ajobbins: Oooh I've just seen that the pilot for Halt and Catch Fire has been released early (Officially premiers on June 1)

Something to watch tonight!

I watched it this morning before my shift. Thought it was pretty good! Will definitely watch more.
I don't really know whether it's just "inspired" by events or not, good story nonetheless. Recommend.
Cheers,
Joseph

Thanks! Hadn't seen this one. Added it to my show list. Going to watch it. :)

corksta: For those of you watching Fargo, are you buying the episodes through Amazon, Vudu, etc? I have a Roku and that's the only method I can see of watching them.

Or is it on SoHo?

Yes, it's on SoHo. Haven't watched it yet, but have three episodes stacked up on my recorder.

PhantomNVD: Arrow, person of interest, agents of shield and Big Bang...

Also catching up on older series Dark Angel.

Guess I like the 'hero' themed series? :)

Older series of Dark Angel?? You are my new favourite person.

I think I forgot to mention Sleepy Hollow before - coming back soon.

And watching House for the first time. Almost at the end of Season 3 now.

The Killing (American version) halfway through season 3.  Nice to see an American cop show where the cops have their flaws exposed as well.

And yes I know the original Danish version is supposed to be better :-)

I just watched both parts of the Top Gear Pantagonia Special. I found it far less interesting than the other specials. It was uneventful for most of it and didn’t seem like the presenters found it as challenging as the other specials, there was one bit that challenged them quite a bit but they moved past it quite quickly. Not as many breakdowns as usual, probably because the cars were not dirt cheap like the ones they usually buy, and they spent a lot of time driving on proper roads.

It was interesting to see how much danger the presenters and the film crew were in because of the number plate on Jeremy’s car. It showed how dangerous mob mentality can be, it would not have been possible to try to explain or even apologise to the protesters as they had already made up their minds. These protesters were violent which lead to some of the film crew getting hurt. It painted Argentina in a bad light and has probably damaged the reputation of Argentina for many people.

I am quite enjoying "The Strain" on The Zone. Was following "Warehouse 13" but stopped, as it seems quite low budget.

We have watched a few of the Christmas panel show specials from the UK over the last few days.  The best was Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2014 - a particularly funny one this year although Mel B was one of the panelists and she was AWFUL.  Also watched the "No L" episode of QI, Would I Lie to You, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks Xmas specials.. The latter was a bit weak but the former two were great as usual.

Keep them in mind next year, they're great to throw on the big screen on Christmas Day if there is a lull in activities....the humour seems to perk everyone up after lunch/dinner :)

There's something strangely addictive about watching The Strain.  I mean it's definitely silly, and the main villain is a bit stupid looking.  The main characters are all dorks.....but as soon as the ninja vampires showed up I was all on board! LOL

I'm currently waiting for Game of Thrones, Suits Season 3/4 (I think), Blacklist and the next season of The Walking Dead.

I decided to try House of Cards.  The first episode was so boring I almost fell asleep.  I thought, "OK OK, give it time...Lets watch the next one, give it two episodes".  I watched the next one and actually fell asleep this time.
Am I watching the correct House of Cards?  It's about this political guy who hires a reporter for some reason, or something.  I don't know, I fell asleep.

Watched the first episode of Fargo last night.  We were getting a bit worried by the slow progress till the end of the scene in the hospital waiting room, but then it got going, and by heck, it's looking like a quality series.  I can barely wait to watch episode two tonight! :-)

the last ship.

not great but better expected.

10 episode seasons are just right for this type of fare.

Marco Polo on us Netflix.

Really enjoyed it. With period pieces I cringe when you can see how few actual people are in mass scenes but not issue here.

The production valves were very good. Great battles, martial arts bits, good acting. Impressed particularly by the actor playing the Khan, not pretty man at all but great performance.

Recommended. 9/10 for me.

Definitely looking forward to next series.

A.

I think you've missed the themes.
Having been shafted by the president elect and after many years as senior whip , he decides to bring down those who betrayed him.

Reporter is aggressive up type who decides to use and be abused by main character in order to advance her career, while he does the same using her..

Much plotting and scheming ensues.

A.
