I dont know why the police are bothering now , if they didnt try & prosecute just after it happened
Chances of any meaningful prosecutions after al these years = 0 . Only winners would be lawyers bank a/c's

 

Its long past being a crime scene .

Should have just sealed the mine and made a memorial for those that perished.
It's a bit grim, but honestly the most realistic outcome in terms of dollars and time spent.

 

 

The $50-60 million dollars spent so far could have created a much better on going legacy for the Coast, rather than another abandoned fatal mine shaft.....

 

 

 

 

The $50-60M was just the money spent on the recovery, that doesn't count all the money spent getting information as to whether it was actually worth trying and how, despite having a report already done we spent a lot of money on.

 

I'm still waiting on Winston Peters to get his hard hat on and be the 'first down the mine'.
