Yeah, na. Whilst I've never had a holiday home in Wanaka, I have done a fair amount of skiing. I'd speculate that most of their skiing would be done at Ruapehu, and storing a complete second set of ski gear, particularly clothing, at Wanaka seems unlikely.

Even if all they took was undies and toothbrushes, it's still premeditated.

I know someone who has a holiday house at basically every holiday location in the country. Let's say they have a holiday house near Ruapehu and Sth island ski fields amongst other holiday houses I think they can afford as many sets of anything you can think of.

Wow. How to get even more people on your side. I particularly like the don't talk to the Wanaka neighbours warning.

I know she will argue it was sent in her personal capacity and not as a judge but....wow!!!

I don't blame her. Implying guilt by association or pestering her because of something her 36YO kid did is nuts. She's already publicly condemned his actions.

Oooh edit / revision:

Journalists are also there to do a job and telling them to not cover a story in a legal letter will never come across looking good. Is that her fault or the journalist?

IDK I'd like the media to be able to put questions to people with respected civil society roles if they become aware of something that may not tally or square up with previous comments made.

I think you probably have to draw your own conclusions about why you might not want media to speak to the neighbours and whether that is out of neighbourly concern or concern for what neighbours may have to say.

Legally it makes sense. After all Stuff can ignore it, as they have, or they can get scared of the scary lawyers and stop. Maybe worth a shot legally but the optics look really crap.

I expect any media consultant will say we need to go through all the worst allegations that could be thrown at you.
Get your story sorted for the ugliest bits, get it out there as quickly as possible.
Then be utterly consistent in repetition.
Press run out of difficult questions and move on to easier meat ? Oh look shiny.

Just saying question X is disrespectful. Issuing threats, does sound like there is a thread to pick at.
You should have a great command of language and be sharp enough as a qualified Judge to easily deal with these.
This will go down VERY badly with most of New Zealand.

Of course if you are a cryptocurrency entrepreneur your behavior is not expected to be of a high standard :-)

One might speculate what they were asking about, though it's not too hard to guess. Allegedly sharing of bubbles and knowledge or not of said actions comes to mind.
