Hmm, that looks like a pretty solid NAS - a processor that isn't one of those anaemic Annapurna or Realtek ARM chipsets, hardware encryption, no hardware media encoding though :(

Been looking for an option to replace my aging QNAP. Price will probably be well north of $1000 though. And the giveaway is NZ only 🤷‍♂️

With the trend towards computer cases getting rid of 3.5" drive bays, moving to a NAS seems inevitable.

It would be nice to move the drone of spinning disks to another room though, I guess any features on top of that are a bonus.

I would really love to win the Synology NAS. I'm still using a 12-13 year old homebuilt Win 7 computer that just runs i-Tunes and WMP with 4 x 2TB HDD's

I seriously need to upgrade to a Synology NAS!, especially after watching ALL the videos and discovering that they can run their own i-Tunes server!

Very Cool 👍

I am currently 17min in to the keynote..... I like the DSM Full System Restore and the Wireless Router looks promising with it's own IOT SSID. Lets be honest I'm here for the badge too.

Hopefully I will have time to watch the videos in the next 10 days... am actually intending to buy a 4-bay Synology for a hobby group/charity.

But a badge will do for now 😀

Long video - but interesting. Does all I'd need it to do and more. Timing is good since I've just installed cabling to the entire house and WD has ended support for my existing myCloud device - so I'm in the market for something that takes my NAS experience to the next level!

A reply to the thread. My DS218+ has been great (and even greater now running DSM7 and with 8Gb ram) so a new Synology would be nice :-)
