Speaking of Bunnings, I tried to order something for delivery today. The form won't accept my landline number and won't let me proceed without a mobile number, which I don't have (yes, there are still some of us). I guess they don't care that much if they don't sell something to a willing buyer!

elpenguino: Love the name. Armour steel implies it's strong but at 0.4 mm it's thinner than the thinnest colour steel.

You missed what it was armoured against: leaves. With vicious serrated edges.

I just ordered from the Pizza Hut website. I did an order for pickup, selecting to pay when I get there.

They've just emailed me a receipt with lines for "GST Paid" and "Total Amount Paid", even though I haven't paid yet!

Wouldn't they be even better off just voting themselves rich?

What I'm getting from that is that if he saves "more than $200" then he's overworked and not taking enough holidays (to save more than $200 you'd need to work 251+ days a year, which assuming a 5-day week means 50.2 weeks).

People are weird. I made a post on another forum. It was one line, and completely factual (someone said that the new Mac Studio Ultra and Studio Display are a good replacement for the now-discontinued 27" iMac, and I replied with "Apart from being three times the price"). Someone hit the "disagree" button on my post. There's no opinion there and therefore nothing to agree or disagree with.

If it was just that, then I wouldn't bother writing about this now. What pushed it over into W T F territory for me was looking at the profile of the person who hit disagree. They had registered for the forum "less than a minute ago". Twenty minutes later they have made no other actions. So it appears that they registered for the sole purpose of hitting Disagree on a post that didn't seek agreement.

Bwuh?

You upset an Apple fanboy. You're lucky they didn't turn up at your house with literature to educate you on the error of your ways.

He wasn't an apple fanboy - 3 times the prices is a feature for apple users

<ducks>

There's your implied opinion that this new model is not a good replacement based on price. You could have worded it "I think it's not a good replacement because it's three times more expensive" and it would be the same as "Apart from being three times the price". The moment you used "Apart" you were not stating a fact but using one to support your opinion.

Someone else's opinion might be that this new model is a good replacement regardless of price because it meets their needs/requirements.

There's always an opinion. And there's always someone who will disagree.

Now, the person who joined just to hit the disagree button? Perhaps the person you replied to that didn't want to start an argument so they create a disposable account. Or just a spammer trying to get some activities under the belt before posting their crap. We might never know.

Daughter's found her old iPod Nano and asked me to load some music. It's a 2 GB device. She's got Spotify family. I don't know what could possibly be worth it installing iTunes, logging on a very old account just to delete the contents on this device and load something else - which will require ripping a couple of her CDs (so here comes the optical drive out of the drawer) and placing the files in the right folders so that iTunes can do its thing...

Oh well, I'll just go and play with the 54 people that upvoted it instead.

So they all share your opinion? Because I don't think people should upvote facts. Voting means supporting something and facts are self-evident.

😜
