Eva888: Used Wise a number of times first before deciding to go the next step of verifying my identity. I used the Safari Browser which requires 2FA. After uploading my Drivers Licence the next step is take a selfie for comparison, press Next. The camera opened but there was no flip button on the screen so camera was facing the floor. Had to physically turn the iPad around so that the camera lens faced me and then guess where I was in the frame and click the shutter button I couldn’t see. Very puzzled looking photo ensued.

Granted I was using my older iPad via browser, but had gotten so far into the verification process that wasn’t going to sign out and go to my newer iPad with the App. No idea if the same problem applies in the newer iPad.

We have id verification and our service requires you to look at the camera, move your head to the left, and then move to the right. If the device you are using has limitations you won't pass.

MikeB4:

My mobility scooter wont charge. I have b=not used it for a while and was unable to get into the garage to charge it. I am told that if the batteries in these things are allowed to go flat the the charger will not connect to the battery circuit and wont start the charge cycle. The remedy is apparently

to replace the batteries which will cost circa $1,000. It seems daft to me that a mobility device that is used by the elderly  and or disabled does not have protection built in to prevent deep discharge given the odds are quite high that they could be left for longer periods between charging due to circumstances. So I will

have to stump up wad of readies and wait until I can arrange install, *$%%#^& annoying.

Thanks for the suggestions and offers etc folks for this problem, very much appreciated. The company that sold the e-bikes to us also deals in mobility devices, the have offered to come down and pick up my mobility scooter and get it sorted which is great. With my condition taking a nose dive in the last month this will be one worry off my mind. Fingers crossed.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

@freitasm Not good at describing.

My issue was not with verification, it was the fact that you couldn’t look at the camera screen of the iPad to take the selfie since there was no flip screen button that usually resides on it. Only way to take the photo was to turn the iPad screen which has the shutter button... away from your face so looking lens which is on the back of the iPad instead of via the screen and take the photo without seeing your image.

Even when the camera opened to take a photo of the licence the screen was very dark and didn’t look normal. Ditto for the selfie. Maybe that iPad is not supported for camera use on their website.
Will see if it’s been accepted later.

What the point is of Bunnings having an email address for enquiries when they can't be bothered to answer them.

This goes for many, many businesses. Why have a contact form or an email address if you have no intention of replying?

Add https://wellingtoncarwreckers.co.nz/ to that list. Used their contact form two weeks ago to see if they held a particular hub cap in stock (lost one in the Winter 2022 pothole saga). No response. You'd think they would want a sale, but apparently not!

While I have some sympathy for your plight, I also think that one's self-inflicted. For any tradies, if you want something specific you need to phone them and talk to the person responsible - they're tradies, not office clerks. Email is handled by Judy, who does the accounts part-time a few days a week until 3-ish when she has to go and pick up the kids. If an inquiry comes in she jots down a note to ask Darren about it when he's next in from a job... or maybe Lucas if he's around...

In any place like that, email is for invoicing and related paperwork, and to let you know your item is ready for pickup if you can't be reached by phone, nothing more.

Probably not a good idea for them to provide links on their web site to a parts enquiry form per major car make then is it...

No, probably not. This is what happens when you go overboard on making everything accessible via the web after the boss read about it in a magazine at the dentist's office and thought we should be doing that too.

The web site shows it as temporarily out of stock. So can't be shipped to anyone.

That just means they won't ship to your country. Change your shipping address to the US and see how out of stock it is then.

Ordered two heat pumps about 10 weeks ago. The installer advised that they would be in stock early September.

Early September arrives. Oh, now it is late October.

Early October arrives. Sorry - they just told us it will be late January before there is stock....
