Indeed. With one child in bed, also sick and another who has tested negative and gone off to an exam.

Eva888: So 22 minutes on a call with State Insurance Claims then pushed to Sales only to be told they can’t give me even an approximate indication what my premium will go up by if I accept the claim payment.
Rubbish response so will claim it and then if premium too high next invoice will move to another company.
To be fair, despite my excellent(ish) experience with my insurer, they were also similarly unable to tell me if my premiums were going to go up and by how much. We've paid over $16k to have new gutters installed, which was the main culprit for the flooding, so I would imagine that should help to mitigate any chance of future claims for the same type of incident, but they seemed indifferent to that news.

On the topic of insurance companies, we've had a good experience with AMI (which I think are IAG too). We have two indoor cats who have recently destroyed one of the curtains in our lounge and venetian blind in the dining room. Likely happened whilst we were out of action with covid and they got bored out in the lounge on their own. We have full replacement in the policy, so after a call to AMI to explain what happened and an assessor coming to have a look the next day they agreed to pay for replacing all the curtains and blinds in the lounge and dining room to match. They even said if we'd had the same ones in the bedrooms they would have done them too so they all matched but the bedroom ones were different.
Less good experience with Curtain Studio who AMI referred the job too. The person came to visit to measure up for the quote and show samples etc and we picked what we wanted (also whilst they had a big sale on we decided to get the same ones for the bedrooms at the same time which we'll pay for on top of the insurance amount. The quote had to be revised at least 5 times due to mistakes (things missing, the same thing on their twice etc) which highlight the importance of checking these things line by line before accepting. And she had to come back two more times due to forgetting some measurements and leaving a piece of equipment behind. Eventually got it finalised in mid August and told "4-6 weeks" for all to be ready. AMI paid out the insurance part immediately. No contact from Curtain Studio throughout September so at start of October a call to the local store told us "by the end of the month." A further call later in the month for an update said "should be ready by 26th." Another call last Monday (31st) said "the system is still showing 26th so you should get a call for installation by the end of the week." Still waiting. Realise there may be staff shortages and supply issues etc, but some communicaton would be appreciated.
As for insurance through banks, my wife had a terrible experience with BNZ after a burglary a year or so before I was around. She'd gone with them as they upsold while taking out the mortgage with them. She had a massive fight to get anything out of them. Nothing at all for things she no longer had receipts for, told her that the jewellery she lost (much of it inherited from a Grandmother) was all "costume jewellery" and not worth anything. Pretty much only paid for repairing the window that was smashed and one thing she'd got as a birthday present from her parents that her Mum managed to prove by finding it on a bank statement. That experience prompted the switch to AMI who her parents have had good experiences with. A burglary is quite traumatising so having to argue with your insurance company is really the last thing you need. She also recently had a minor car accident that needed repair and again the process with AMI was really easy.

Handsomedan:
So…turns out that was an early test and I just hadn’t built up enough crap in my hooter. Have now tested positive and feel quite ill. Bad cough, raging headache, fever, snotty nose and earache.
Barely slept last night so am isolating in the front room idly flicking through Netflix and other streaming services.
Good luck with it. I hope it eases off soon.

I got a Logitech G635 gaming headset a few months ago.
The cord CONSTANTLY curls up. I unplug the cord and straighten it out with my hands, but within days its all curled up again. I have hung the headset from the top story (I am holding the usb end) and let it untangle itself hoping it would fully fix it, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
It is driving me crazy as it shortens when it curls up, i end up having to be closer and closer to the PC box as it pulls on me until I eventually cave and unplug it and try and straighten it out again. Once its tangled I have about 500mm of usable length
EDIT: and ive just noticed that the usbc end that plugs into the headset and is always curled up has started to fray and I can see wires. Awesome.

I had a Logitech of some description (I want to say G233) and the cable didn't curl up at all. On the other hand it had a stupid 'block' on the middle of it with a volume knob that caught on things, so you can't win.
After that headset broke I picked up one from another brand, with no block, but the cable's slightly too short for leaning back and watching a video, and it's not detachable. Sigh.
The usual cause of curling is picking it up with one hand and putting it down with the other. This was a thing back in the days of corded phones- you'd pick up the receiver with your right hand, then transfer it to your left hand if you needed your right hand free for writing etc, then hang the receiver up from your left hand when done.
