Behodar:

The absurd amount of spam email I've been getting over the past month or so. I find it astounding that spam's been a problem for 25+ years, yet fixing the problem (e.g. validating who the sender is) has been in the providers' too-hard basket for just as long.

I used to be able to do wildcard blocking at work, now they have shifted the Outlook run by MS...BRRRRRRPPP

So I could do things like *@*.kz, *@*.football or *@spamdomain.com

Some of it I can do with Apple mails rules, but I may look at buying Spamsieve

I have no idea why some company does not offer white listed email service, I am sure the filtering would be far faster.

Getting spammed almost constantly in the Arlo App to sign up for a paid plan even though I have dismissed it with no thanks. First they throw the change of policy and now they do this. My Arlo kit will be going to the E waste

This: Madonna looks like a freakazoid and nobody is supposed to say anything...

Basically, Madonna got up and said some stuff, but because she's had a terrible face job done and looks like a waxwork you'd decommission because it's melted in the sun, everyone is talking about her face.

Apparently, because she's a woman, famous and over 50, nobody is supposed to talk about it and we're supposed to celebrate her efforts to make the world a better place because she's in it?

She looks silly. She is ion her 60's. She should look slightly more like she's in her 60's. Currently I think she looks like a burn victim that's had a repair job done.

The Briscoes curtain section.

Logical: Curtains for narrow windows will be on the left side of the shelf, and as you move right you'll get wider and wider curtains. Likewise, the curtains with a small drop will be at the top, and going down the self will give you taller and taller curtains.

The Briscoes way: Just put anything anywhere and hope the customer can find what they want.

That there are no pre-made net curtains at 900mm. I need to pay someone to make some!

Nope. Hope they can't find what they want! Buy 5 choices, then a lot of stuff they didn't plan to buy!

Result = Most people don't bring returns back! (Live in the hope of finding another use for what they bought extra). Sales vastly increased from you actually finding the one item you wanted, and leaving with only that purchase!

When a company sends you promotional texts, you reply STOP, so they switch to emailing instead.

For bonus points, "stop" did not work; it was case sensitive. They *really* want to send this rubbish.

Sounds about rightish

You mayy find its rated for 5000 continuous hours.

Turning it on and off causes thermal stresses in the filament due to expansion/contraction.

A cold lamp will briefly also draw up to 10 times the run current because of the much lower resistance when cold.

Back in the good old days you paid about $1/hr of life for lamps too, thankfully that has come down in price.

You misunderstood!

That is 5000 hours, NOT turned on. Turned on is anyone's guess! 🙃

Go back to the retailer. Almost all bulbs have a 1000 hour warranty, but even if they don't, 800 hours is well short of what would be considered reasonable when 5000 is the guideline used. You'd be well covered by the CGA. Retailer and Manafacturer will likely try and fight you, be polite but firmly insistent, and for $50 log a DT case.

I had a similar situation. I ended up getting a new bulb, next time it happen was around 2000 hours, and they discounted the new bulb prorata.

My next projector is laser as bulbs are stupid and expensive.

Unfortunately 100"+ OLED's are still outside of the average consumers reach cost wise.

No, it doesn't. Use the projectors inbuilt indicator for the number of hours. If that isn't at least whatever the least number of hours for a warranty, usually 1000.

CGA will almost 100% likely cover OP

Actually, a thought came to me while I was in bed, and I think it may have been my own fault. I realised that when I fumigated the place for cockroaches I didn't dismount/cover the projector. The old bulb was physically broken and there was some "chalky" residue which may very well have been due to being permeated with fumigator...

In any case I'm not going to bother invoking the CGA on a $70 bulb that I still managed to get ~350 movies out of.
