Well, maybe, but more makes me think - but the last weekend was only about 2 days ago....

Maybe weekends are just easier to spot

not if you are retired, everyday is much the same.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Tinkerisk:

In principle, you're right, but what I've already fished out of hopeless situations in terms of "stainless steel screws" tells me that it should at least be worth a try. Ferritic stainless steel, for example, is magnetic, while austenitic is not. That's why even stainless steel knives stick to the magnetic bar in the kitchen. But it must be a really strong neodymium magnet for your task.

Yeah, I'd already tried it, which is why I was aware of the steel grating since I had to crowbar the magnet back off it. The bolts are so minimally magnetic that even in direct contact they can't hold onto the magnet, and in this case they'd have to be attracted over a bit of distance.

I eventually replaced it with an M4 with teflon tape around the threads and a nut to make it lock into the shallow hole, so it's bypassed but still annoying.

When Allbirds *finally* have a decent sale and the colour and size you want aren't in that sale.

Currently, every day is Tuesday. We'll get to Wednesday eventually, but the weekend does seem quite a way away yet...

The ars3hats on both sides of the Hogwarts Legacy nonsense.

It’s ridiculously nasty and not necessary.

I watched when it started and noped TF right out of there immediately. I'm enjoying the game immensely to spite all of them :)

Enjoying something to spite “them” is just as stupid.

Enjoy it or not it on it’s merits. Being needlessly petty is what causes this crap.

"Hogwarts Legacy" is a video game; the "on both sides" is indicating an Internet-Argument about if JK Rowling should still be considered a good person or not, based on things she's said over the last couple of years (I think that's the timeframe??).  I don't play the game; I'm not following the arguments; but I understand it's getting very nasty online and potentially spilling into the real world too.

Watched a few episodes of the 2022 Battle Bots on Netflix (Well Done Auckland Uni for having competitors in it)

48 minutes, maximum of 12 minutes is the actual battles.

Should be thankful I can scroll past the filler I guess.

It was so much better when actual geeks ran it for fun, then it got commercialised...ugh.

So it's a video game where you argue about the merits of a famous personality? Isn't that what Twitter is for, and it's traditionally Trump that the game is played over.

It's a Harry Potter universe-based Video Game, and JK Rowling is the creator of said Universe; I don't believe the actual game involves arguing over it's creator; that's perhaps a little meta for most video games...

But nothing would surprise me anymore.  (Well, that's not actually true - I'm sadly surprised that the world is STILL spiralling into madness on a depressingly regular basis)

For me, what someone says is less important than what someone does.
