freitasm: My phone is set to quiet from 8pm to 8am. Only people in a select list can bypass this. A very small list.

Ditto - although my work phone is set differently to my personal one.

Personal phone  - always silent. Everything goes to my watch.

Work phone - never silent, but goes to sleep at 8pm and wakes up again at 8am, much like you, MF.

Crawling along behind some vegetable on the road, hoping for a place to overtake...get to nice straight flat bit of road where you can see forever...thousands of cars coming in the opposite direction, of course...

...get to a twisty bit of road where you can see for 2 metres...absolutely nothing coming in the opposite direction - of course...

Ordering something online because you cant get it in store
Following up to find out the order was cancelled after waiting the expected shipping period (4-6 business days)
Getting an email asking to review the product
Providing a review of the non-delivery which wasn't then accepted
Then getting the refund to my credit card.

Thanks The Warehouse Group I will only be buying instore or preferably elsewhere from now on.

Seems normal for at least 50% of Online orders I ever did from them!

Multiple times! They seem to have no problem taking the money, but seem to misplace it for a while before giving it back!

(Interest free loan for them! It happens so often, the "refunds" must be a huge revolving credit for them!)

The technical term for this is seignorage, it's used on a massive scale with gift cards where the issuers are earning interest on the value you've given them in exchange for the plastic token you're holding. However if you paid for it with cash then the government is also doing it, earning interest on the value they've been given while you hold some coloured plastic on their behalf.

Finally get to a passing lane - vegetable turns into a dragster setting a record for the 1/4 mile...

I was on an unfamiliar road a couple of days ago. Got to a twisty bit and there's a 50 km/h sign. Naturally I went at 50 (or actually a bit slower around some of the blind bends). The road straightened out after a couple of minutes, but I didn't see any signs changing the speed limit. Neither did the car (it "reads" the signs and puts them on the HUD). Maybe there's more twisty stuff after this straight bit? Nope. Maybe after this straight bit? Also no. A few km later I finally came to a 100 sign. I glanced at the back of it as I passed. 80.

Now I'm not sure whether the car and I both missed an 80 sign after the twisty bit, or whether the speed limit is actually different in the other direction.

That annoys the crap out of me...My car also "reads" the signage and lets me know what I should be doing. I don't rely on it.

My car also reads the signs. For the most part it does quite well but there is a specific overbridge on SH1 heading southbound around Penrose where my car thinks its spotted a 10km/hr sign. Its quite funny as the display reads 10km/hr and it starts flashing at me as I'm obvious speeding. Can't for the life of me figure out what the camera is picking up as there is nothing that resembles a 10km/hr speed sign in the vicinity.

Yeah, mine does that sort of thing sometimes. I've also had it pick up the "limited to 90 km/h" signs on the backs of trucks and tell me I should be doing 90 down an urban street...

It's a good feature as a reminder, but you can't rely on it.

Reading a post that you know is blatantly wrong, but not wanting to get into an argument on the internet.

Then coming here to whine about it. 🤦‍♂️
