I'm having a bad time shopping lately. Went out to get 9 things, across 2 supermarkets and an asian food market and a diary managed to get 3 things!

Cost me twice in petrol what it cost in food!

Your standards may just be too high. People who aren't gourmands can usually find acceptable substitutions. Apart from that, international trade is still in the process of recovering from the pandemic. We really are at the end of the earth. Be patient and I'm sure things will improve.

Exactly. Materials to cover bread in something runnier than bread, or that if microwaved for a long enough period are at least chewable, are pretty easy to get from almost anywhere.

Edited to add: Yes, I was a student at one point, why do you ask?

Nothing wrong with high standards. 👍

Other than complaining they can't be met.

I use my PlayStation about once every two months.

I turn it on to play a game and stare at the blue update screen for thirty minutes and turn it off.
Repeat in two months.
Am I missing something but I thought putting in sleep mode (PS4) meant that it should all this when it needed to?

A new annoyance for today, people who assume things and then make snarky comments based on that.

Oh, *thank* you for your assumptions and for explaining how I could have avoided my 'complaining'. What substitute for my unreasonable standards would you like me to use for Methylated Spirits, Avocados (which aren't sourced internationally), and eggs (also not internationally sourced)?

You are likely in the wrong thread. The entire thread is people complaining, including you in healthy doses.

Depends. What kind of cocktail were you trying to make?

I toggle to the desktop site within my phone/tablet browser which helps making edits easier.

Actually, I wasn't trying to be snarky this time. I think you are also making assumptions based on all the other times when I was. All I meant to say was things will probably get better and your frustrating experience is just a snapshot based on current circumstances.

According to the news eggs have been in short supply, apparently having to do with new cage prohibitions. Avocados don't seem to be where I am but the news also keeps going on about produce shortages. Maybe you are just having an unlucky spell.
