I find the metal clip on tape measures is too short to lock over the belt, so its just clamping to the surface of the belt and knocks off too easily. Actually they work better on a pocket than a belt as the lip of the pocket seems to hold in unlike the flatness of a belt.
networkn:neb: That's the first thing I do with any measuring tape I have, remove the *&^&* clip. Has anyone ever seen a builder clip one of those things to their belt? Power tools clip on, hammers go into a loop, and tapes into a pocket, I've never seen the tape clip actually used as a clip.Really? I've seen and used it on my belt many times.
neb: Strange, my Aliexpress ones came through without delay, perhaps because the description was more generic, "woodworking tools" or something. I can see that "feather boards" (looking like animal products attached to wood products) would trigger alarms, moving them into the much slower manual-processing-required channel rather than the automated cleared-instantly one.
Yeah I can see why it good picked. Stupid description on the part of Banggood.
I suggested to Banggood that they change their goods descriptions to avoid unnecessarily triggering MPI. They won't. But I'll avoid anything labelled with something that sounds like an animal or plant product in future.

Different use case for most of you fellas. Mine is used around the house to measure stuff for comparison or purchasing, eg, what does 37x74x108 look like, not for building. Thus it mostly sits on a very easily scratched wooden coffee table as I scroll for various items. Last straw was when a visiting child dragged it across said table and caused a scratch.
Mine is attached to the wall via the belt clip, and I use the clip when I go timber shopping. For tables I just put it down clip up.

Geektastic: The alleged fresh fish counter at our local Countdown.
It’s looked like this every time I’ve been in since July last year!!
So nothing that is sustainable can be found?

The OneNZ app keeps crashing when attempting to top up a pre-pay sim. Good to see that the new name has continued the old failures. facepalm
That seemingly every manufacturer of kitchen scales thinks you have a kitchen without a single power point, and that you would rather feed the thing batteries all the time.

Get an AC adaptor with the right voltage, cut the plug off and attach the wires to the battery contacts. Stick a rechargable battery in the circuit to act as a buffer. Problem solved!
