Geektastic: ... It doesn’t appear to occur to them that their customers might be at work Monday to Friday and therefore only available to do business with them on Saturday….

But their staff have to work all week too, and want Saturday off to get to the places they couldn't during the week...

Which are then all closed to allow their staff...

I'm just thinking back 50 years or so to when it was normal for shops to be closed at the weekend. We crammed all the shopping into late nights Thursday and/or Friday... But it was much less common for housewives to work, so they had time during the day to do the shopping.

Behodar:

I think I may have said a variation of this in the past, but... "How likely are you to recommend portal.azure.com to a friend or colleague?"

Does Microsoft really think that people sit around the staff room and go "I think you should check out the Azure management console!"?

"How likely are you to recommend portal.azure.com to an enemy?"

networkn:

Immunization programs are not run by parents nor are promoting or education programs.

Pretty sure you'll find that some of the people running & promoting immunization programs are in fact parents.

Geektastic: The number of businesses these days that don’t bother opening on Saturdays.

In the past fortnight:

A main brand car dealer
A locksmith
A tow bar fitting company
A courier office

It doesn’t appear to occur to them that their customers might be at work Monday to Friday and therefore only available to do business with them on Saturday….

Whilst I sympathise as a Mon-Fri  worker, I think it's great that some businesses prioritise their workers' weekend recreational time over making money. Likewise, Easter should also be shopping-free & work-free, so that those workers can participate in communal long weekend activities.

That my plum tree which is meant to blossom in Spring and fruit in summer is confused. It has just burst into flower. Guaranteed never to fruit as we go into winter.

The ridiculous hyperbole we now endure.

“So today, I actually nearly had a heart attack!

“However, for those who are not aware, NZPOST has significantly reduced what it classes as its Auckland boundary!“

No you actually didn’t.

That's what you get for planting it in the wrong hemisphere.

Yup. I remember using "nearly had a heart attack" as a kid, and hearing other kids use it too. I've also heard it used in other languages. It's a common saying crossing national boundaries that's been around forever.

2FA not working on a system I have to demo to clients.
Having to reschedule in the hope it's working tomorrow or Wednesday.

Hah, I was in a meeting today with a third-party who was supposed to be demoing the features on their website. The headline feature was "can't connect; certificate expired this morning".

Right, cancelling Food Bag. They've just sent me a box of ingredients with no recipes whatsoever. That's the last straw.
