Confining them to one part of the plane enables those of us who are particularly susceptible to high-pitched screeching to choose another part. Thoughtless parents should be more considerate of their children, as well as other passengers. One of the main reasons toddlers scream on a plane is that they have trouble equalising pressure differences and are in genuine discomfort. Others are simply afraid from the new experience. Parents just blithely assume they can subject their children to this kind of thing and then seem surprised when the children object in the only way they can. Some parents are not only thoughtless, they are idiots.

Kids cry at home, on the bus, at the shops, and so on. Don't you think the parents would do what they could?

I was on a flight from St Louis to LAX once, it was a rough flight, and I had to listen to idiot adults wailing, or spewing, those adults must also be idiots. Thoughtless....

Those stupid road signs that say "slippery when wet". I have yet to find a single piece of road that does not get slippery when it is wet. But if you take the sign at face value, it implies that the road before the sign does not get slippery when it is wet. So if people actually believe these signs it would help to explain why there are so many crashes whenever there is the slightest bit of rain.

And add in those electronic signs on the motorways that say things like "Surface water on road" when it is raining. Or "reduced visibility" when there is fog. These can actually cause accidents since you can see from a very long distance that there is a message on the sign. But you have to be closer to it to read it. So people both concentrate on the sign and slow down to read it. Have seen a few cases where just having a message on the sign has caused traffic congestion by the sign.

Our media breathlessly exclaiming what the maximum penalty is for whatever crime they are reporting on, when no-one ever gets the maximum penalty or anything close to it.

Chocolate chips in ice cream. What's the point? Nobody can taste chocolate at that temperature. They are not chips. They are a half lenticular shape. Smooth with no texture will only add to the problem.

Unlimited voice calling cellphone plans. It encourages people to pick up the phone and ring you because you, of course, just love dropping what you're doing to answer the phone to be informed of, or asked, something that could be done much less intrusively via some other method like email etc. if they were better organised.

It's become such an epidemic my phone is set to only notify me of calls by those who can be trusted to only call as a last resort - everyone else is outside the "circle of trust".

I say shoot the children haters who somehow always complain about crying kids and screaming children. Here's a novel idea, children/babies cry for all kinds of reasons and cry everywhere. Should we confine parents with babies/children at home, just so you don't have to hear them? And have you bothered to consider that sometimes people travel to have things like family reunions, to attend funerals, or literally see relatives for the last time etc? Buy a set of earplugs if you are particularly susceptible to noise, rather than just hating on children and their parents.

And all this is coming from someone who doesn't have kids.
