MetService needs to get a grip.    Showers, some heavy. Showers easing this afternoon  Total rainfall so far today: 0.0 mm. Total rainfall forecast for today: 0.0 mm

Rain forecasting has been awry for a while now. Read just the words not the one line or hourly data, crazy.

It annoys me that it's showing there is a 90% chance of rain today, but it's ACTUALLY raining for the last 3+ hours in Auckland. It's not forecasting at this point, so no chance of it not being accurate.

I was informed not long ago by someone that the % number referred to the proportion of the town/city/locale that would have rain. So for your example, 90% of Auckland would have rain on that day. 🙃

As I previously pointed out, this is the thread for Small Things That Annoy You. It is not a forum for defending doctoral dissertations. The disproportionate significance accorded to Rugby on our national news media annoys me. That is all.

Agree to this. Even yesterday, they had the middle east news with visuals, guess what the next news item was, Rugby team selection for the finals. Was really annoyed.

PS: I do follow rugby, but it gets too much at times.

rang my GP for a appointment and was told the 16th was the earliest one  i said November and i swear the receptionist laughed and said no December. What is the point of GP's if you cant see them when you are sick, 6 weeks is ridiculous . Sorry rant over.

Yeah. MS's Rain Radar is a good tool for the day, but I also check YR for forecasted rain levels for the day or days ahead. Being an avid gardener that more or less covers my needs

Thats the issue with the cheaper GPs. I have no problems getting one in a couple of days at my expensive Remuera one but then people flip out when I say what it costs to go there and like to say that their one only costs them $15.

I hope you're not having to take more than two days' sick leave and that your employer wants a doctor's note: "Sure thing boss...I'll get it to you by Christmas!"

Yep, mine costs $70 ($25 with CSC). Looking at the booking page now, I can get my GP on Monday, the other 4 in the practice are Tuesday through 15 Nov. There's a serious shortage of GPs that gets worse the further away you go from town.

NZ is exporting GPs and importing students and waiters. Not sure what the answer to this is.

My wife is a GP and I could tell you how to fix it, but it's quite a long list.

In short - Better Pay, Governments not continually adding stuff to their responsibilities without extra pay/resources, that means GP's get paid 6/10's and work 10/10-14/10's to meet the workload. More DR's training spots should have been expedited, we shouldn't have let the ones we had go due to delays in Immigration and other minor stupidity that was foreseeable and avoidable.

From the patient perspective, if you have more than 2 things wrong with you, book and pay for a double appointment. If you don't like your Dr running late, don't put them in the position where they can't see your ailments in their 15 minute allocated time.

It will only get worse. Can chuck teachers in there too. How many of the 200,000 that left were young professionals, and how many of the 100,000 that arrived were GPs?

Lived in the same house for 23 years now. This year we get mice. Is it the weather. How annoying, especially when they die in some inaccessible death bed inside the wall.

I got some bulk Persil laundry detergent. I usually get the "sensitive skin" non-perfumed one, but this was on sale.

Wow it stank up my house with its cheap perfume, just from opening the box.

I washed my bed throw. It was so sickeningly sweet I had I run it through the wash a second time, with just water.

Even overnight, the house still stank like a cheap brothel.

I wound up putting the box contents in a plastic bad, and throwing it away.

I noticed the box was not listed on the Persil website. It said "made in Vietnam" (maybe it all is)

Hurt my back helping the cowboy that came to replace the dishwasher. He insisted I help him carry the new one up the stairs and the old one downstairs. I'm a short-term tenant and wasn't too happy about it, but he's an older gent and needed help.

As a result, I am now out of pocket and out of health, after a visit to the chiropractor and more to come.

If the tightwad that owns this multi-million-dollar home that we are short-term-renting just paid for a proper dishwasher technician and the parts for the Bosch unit that was here instead of getting his fixit man to do it, I wouldn't be in this predicament.

I'll be making a complaint to the rental agent.
