Intolerant people who don't understand or care that the children aren't screaming just for the sake of it, and the parents are likely already stressed

Perhaps we could confine those who are particularly susceptible to one part of the plane - perhaps the hold, or down the back where you wont be worried about the turbine sounds either?

Confining them to one part of the plane enables those of us who are particularly susceptible to high-pitched screeching to choose another part. Thoughtless parents should be more considerate of their children, as well as other passengers. One of the main reasons toddlers scream on a plane is that they have trouble equalising pressure differences and are in genuine discomfort. Others are simply afraid from the new experience. Parents just blithely assume they can subject their children to this kind of thing and then seem surprised when the children object in the only way they can. Some parents are not only thoughtless, they are idiots.

I say shoot the children haters who somehow always complain about crying kids and screaming children. Here's a novel idea, children/babies cry for all kinds of reasons and cry everywhere. Should we confine parents with babies/children at home, just so you don't have to hear them? And have you bothered to consider that sometimes people travel to have things like family reunions, to attend funerals, or literally see relatives for the last time etc? Buy a set of earplugs if you are particularly susceptible to noise, rather than just hating on children and their parents.

And all this is coming from someone who doesn't have kids.

While on subject of planes.

If you can't lift the bag or carry it, it's not hand luggage / carry on luggage. (not wheels allowed)

The stress / anger caused by people stressing/arguing about whether they can get the luggage overhead near to their seats always seems to start flights in a stressful manner.

Air NZ not allowing you to part pay with Airpoints which other airlines do allow. Had to book some flights last week and had enough airpoints to cover the out-going flight plus about half the return flight, but they wouldn't let me use them as they didn't cover the full booking. So instead I ended up making 2 one-way bookings so I could use airpoints for one flight, and just pay for the other. Anyone know the justification for this?

Geez! Another mention of Hilary Barry on the Stuff website - referring to her as "the mate of the nation" WTF? The dumbest phrase ever.

Judy Bailey as "The monther of the nation" was a stupid phrase as well - but 'Mate of the nation" - puke!

(I have no particular like or dislike of either lady - they do fine professional work)
