Is it asking too much to actually be warm on a summers day ?

Downloading a free photo of son's graduation from Uni apparently requires an email address. Why?

Why do people bother to come round to your house to give you a quote, spend over a hour there, and then never actually send one ?

And I assume you have involved the privacy commissioner on this?

Apparently you need to give the company 30 days to respond.

I have a note in my diary to raise this tomorrow, since they haven't responded. But today they managed to send a marketing email (thankfully via BCC this time) with no unsubscribe link, so it looks like I'll be complaining to the DIA too!

I dunno. In my view , the damage was done to an inanimate object, no one was hurt and another object can be made if desired.

Damaging something that doesn't belong to you is not OK.

That's what you would teach a child, but as we know , life has a lot more grey areas than that.

For example, I see a distressed baby, left alone in a closed car on a hot sunny day, no adult to be seen.

I break the window to save the baby's life.

Most people would agree damaging something that doesn't belong to you is OK, depending on the circumstances.

The details of those circumstances is where the conversation happens.

I wonder how you’d feel about me keying your car to the bare metal, so we could have a conversation about climate change.

Indeed. There's actually no excuse for it at all in an elightened age.

Can I apply that logic to the original treaty document? Can I go vandalise it and then shrug my shoulders when people get upset? 🤔

Emergency breaks all rules! You would be penalised for not having done it if you had been able to.

Next day received an email asking for the model number and serial number WHICH WAS SUBMITTED IN THE FORM.

They just want to make sure that it's not another manufacturer's product and that you're not disturbing them while they're drinking their coffee for no reason. 🤷‍♂️

I can hardly keep up with the cancellation of e-mail newsletters. Even reputable companies that once "promised" 1-3 newsletters per year now seem to have broken all their dams. What was once sales psychology has now become blunt terror. This leaves me with no choice but to say goodbye as a customer.

The only emails we send out are either registration links, PM notifications, mention notifications or forum reply notification.

These are actions taken by the user (except perhaps the mention notifications). And yet some people (small number, sure) mark some of those as "spam".

Dear Maurico, I'm sorry if you felt that I was addressing you, but I didn't think about GZ for a second because, as you say,

1) you can configure it and

2) if something was seriously bothering me, I would contact you directly by PM so as not to make a big deal of it.

No, I meant these newsletters for updates, new products etc. when you've bought a good product and then it's just getting started, as if you were buying an expensive product every week instead of just staying up to date for updates.

Oh, don't worry. I wasn't referring to you.

I just posted because you mentioned the newsletters and other promotional material, which reminded me that I'd checked the Google Postmaster earlier this week and saw those spam reports.

No problems.

Contacted three different companies yesterday using forms on their website. A car dealership, an electrician company and an upholster business.

More than 24 hours later, no reply from any of them.

You'd think the car dealership would be the most keen for business. It seems not.

I always assume any web form submission that doesn't email you back a copy of what you submitted is probably broken and never going to be read. 😌

Yes! Had a tradie here a couple of weeks ago, was going to email a quote next day. Nothing. No reply to a text either.
