It baffles, and actually kinda enrages me, that New World will put something on special (a dollar off! $1.01 cheaper than Countdown!) and claim that they're bringing value to customers. The same product is still $5.50 cheaper at Pak n Save.

What is this fabulous item? It would annoy me if it wasn't something I'd use.

The fact that I have to wear my wife's reading glasses, in order to repair my own reading glasses! Just to tighten the screw on the arms I can't see a bloody thing up that close.

I hate getting old!

no different to petrol. 98 here in auckland is as low as $2.76 today, but its as high as $3.17 elsewhere. On a 40L tank, thats $16. in some cases, there's only a few km differences between locations.

just another reason why the cost of living is so high

Why do computer users lie so often? "I clicked on Save and nothing happened", followed in the very next sentence by "I loaded the file and it all came up correctly". So when you say "nothing happened", what you actually mean is that it saved successfully?

The sheer number of people who smoke in Melbourne. Just SO gross.  Get back after being out wandering the streets and I smell like I smoked a pack!

People moaning about Luxon taking on free training when that is exactly the type of thing that people should be doing to better themselves.

Good on him for learning a bit of TRM.

It's more the learning on the taxpayers dime while saying others shouldnt get it.

He had tax-funded training while saying people in government shouldn't expect tax-funded training because that's what people should do on their own time and with their own money.

It's the hypocrisy.

But then there's a whole thread in the Politics sub-forum to point out the hypocrisy of it all.

I believe the main issue was DOC paying $3.5k bonuses to DOC staff who completed Te Reo training, but did not require Te Reo to perform their work duties.

IMHO Te Reo lessons is a not unreasonable use of taxpayer funds for a politician who represents or deals with Maori as part of their job. Paying DOC staff bonuses who do not need Te Reo in performing their duties was not appropriate public spending. Particularly when DOC has been insufficiently funded to do their actual job, I.e. conservation.

The media has beat this up, as is their want.

It is a different issue. The annoyance was pointed out. No need to discuss the point here - please use the linked Politics thread.

Online Eftpos for BNZ being down a few days out from Xmas when you're trying to buy things.

I've been getting regular alerts for all the banks over the last few weeks - it seems extra-flakey at the moment.

Handsomedan in the smile thread:

Hearing Snoopy's Christmas for the first time this year (I know eventually it'll grate my nerves, but it really IS Christmas when you hear that for the first time in the festive season).

Snoopy's ****ing Christmas!!!!!

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

It's also annoying that BNZ reports no outages but Paymark/Worldline are reporting a BNZ specific issue that's being worked on by BNZ.
