freitasm:
Finished watching Star Trek The Next Generation with my daughter. Some good episodes there.
Yesterday's Enterprise would be my favourite, but Chain of Command (Part 2) is probably the "best" episode.
Binged "To The Lake" on Netflix over the long weekend - thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot of Walking Dead vibes from it, and shot very well with a good soundtrack etc.
Caliphate on Netflix. Swedish drama set in Sweden and Syria, about radicalisation of teenage girls to Islam. Watched the 8 episodes in a week 8.2 on IMDB
Queen's Gambit on Netflix. Really enjoyed it.

oh that looks good, thanks.
freitasm: Star Trek Discovery S03E01 (Netflix).
Whoa. Mind blown.
I loved all the old Treks but Picard and this one I can’t even watch. The husband does tho.

Picard was pretty awful. Discovery is better, but has still been a bit if a mixed bag.
Star Trek Discovery - Ep 1 & 2 S03.
Good. Star Trekky. Well put together. High production values. Well acted.
Waiting for the Red Shirt to die...doesn't seem to happen as often as it did in Kirk's day.

Quite enjoying Helstrom
Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer; the siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity.
A standalone series in the MCU made by Hulu

Queen's Gambit on Netflix. Really enjoyed it.
+1.
I simply enjoyed this all the way through which puts it in the top 5% of shows I've seen.
The visuals were very stylish and the main character often looks amazing in contrast to rather drab surroundings.
The whole series came to a very satisfying end even if all my questions didn't get answered.
I'm surprised that I enjoyed a series with so little "action" but there is a lot of wit and good storytelling.
Edit:
I see that it rates very highly on iMDb - it ranks as #49 in TV shows.

I started this last night too and watched the first two episodes. I'll be getting through the next 5 episodes before the weekend I reckon, what a great watch!
The Undoing starring Nicole Kidman. Enjoying a lot, my new go-to show. Very suspenseful.
Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21
elpenguino: Enjoyed white farm on neon. Based on a true story of a whole family wiped out in an apparent murder suicide, leaving one survivor, much like the bain case.
Speaking of which, also watching black hands based on the Bain story.
That happened not too far from where I grew up in Essex, UK. The David Bain case happened ten years before I moved here, but we heard about in the UK and parallels with Bamber were widely discussed. It was interesting that despite following the Bamber case in the papers, my wife (also from the UK) and I learned heaps of new info from White House Farm. A great program well worth watching.

It would be great if people could say how/where they saw something when recommending it.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
