I'm not sure whether the neighbours 120 metres down the street are using Spark or not, but they've put their address for their SSID...
I've seen that too! Although it's really just saying that a house has a wifi network... like almost all houses so can't put my finger on exactly why I think it's a bad idea.
Could be worse, e.g around here:
Jesus loves you!
TeamJesus!
Go Vegan
Gay Porn
SIS Surveillance Van #4
Obviously not coming from the same household...
Bung:If the wifi on stock routers is so powerful why is there so much emphasis on additional mesh units? There doesn't seem like a signal strength problem if the neighbours 7 houses down the road can pick you up.
The "powerful" just seems to mean crank the power levels up to max and hope for the best. I've got a third-hand ancient out-of-support Ruckus that easily outperforms flagship current routers that at best do MIMO but not proper beamforming like the Ruckus does, I get 1-2 bars on brand X at the same spot I get four bars on the Ruckus.
Side-note: If anyone's ever selling a slightly more recent Ruckus that runs Unleashed, let me know. Current one is fine, but it hasn't got updates for years.

Are you comparing apples to apples? Not saying what you are saying is wrong per-se, but if by newer you mean 5Ghz, and older you mean 2.4, there is a good reason for the difference in signal strength. The better signal, could in fact result in lower speeds.
Not related to this exactly, but having your router able to 'shout' it's signal a long way, isn't much good, if the device who is getting it, can't shout back the same distance.

By newer I mean dual-band that's fairly recent, by older I mean dual-band that was EOL'd I don't know how many years ago. The phone just says "2.4/5GHz" for both devices so I can't tell which one it's on.
And for signal in the garden etc the speed doesn't really matter, I'm checking email and getting occasional notifications so as long as it can do about 64kbps it's fine. I just notice it when I start getting failures to fetch/send email or get a string of queued notifications as I get closer to the house, which happens when it drops to 1-2 bars.
Buggy TV streaming Apps

Buggy TV streaming Apps
I definitely have more issues on Android than IOS. In the end it helped push me to AppleTV and only have one remaining issue - the AppleTV Bluetooth regularly drops connections - either to the speaker or the remote control. No issues with the streaming apps such as SkySportNow, TVNZ+ etc anymore.

I seldom watch them on mobile devices. My main issue is with the Apps on the TV(LG) and Apple TV 4k. TVNZ + being the worse followed closely by 3Now and Disney. I haven't experienced issues with SkySport App yet. Neon is a mess.
Shadowfoot:Road toll reporting is based on fatalities rather than fatal accidents.
It's hard to see the figures, but from a road safety perspective, fewer fatal accidents, regardless of the number of people involved in the accident, is surely an indicator of safer roads. Perhaps switching it to serious accidents rather than fatal accidents is a better indicator of safety.

I got around that by loading up a browser and streaming through that. Works perfectly. Even has an ad blocker.
neb: Incidentally, the reason for the attrition is buying gear off eBay/Aliexpress that comes with CEE 7 or occasionally US 3-pin to C13 cables, eventually you run down your stockpile.
Incidentally, if anyone can use CEE 7/US/UK to C13 cables, or knows some way to recycle them, let me know. Seems to shame to keep throwing them away.
apple turning up with a new photo format and people thinking its a good idea to share photos in that format with windows users.
Jpg works, keep using that.

AppleTV is a streamer device (and smart hub) not a moble device. I avoid Smart TV apps as they are hopeless. Even if I got the latest TV from LG, Samsung, Sony etc I would avoid their smart apps for the reason you have - they become obsolete or unsupported and the TV smart OS is not updated.

It will convert it if you choose a size when sharing the photo. I think the problem is more that users think you want their full res stupid motion HDR crap photo of something instead of just knowing what the part they need to buy looks like.

Don't they also significantly degrade the image if you export it to a non-Apple format? Friend of mine sent me a photo that looked awful at 100% and while trying to figure it out read some blog post somewhere about them degrading the image when you go from HEIC to JPG:
That's the cleaner portion, other parts look like they've been put through some paintbrush "artistic effect" filter with JPEG-artefact blurring thrown in for good measure.
