neb:  Don't they also significantly degrade the image if you export it to a non-Apple format? Friend of mine sent me a photo that looked awful at 100% and while trying to figure it out read some blog post somewhere about them degrading the image when you go from HEIC to JPG: That's the cleaner portion, other parts look like they've been put through some paintbrush "artistic effect" filter with JPEG-artefact blurring thrown in for good measure.

Yes, they recompress with pretty agressive compression on them and people can choose a size when they share and it seems that even the big option is not very big.

The thing is that the cameras can do a hell of a lot better than these legacy image formats will take, so they had to use a newer one. Its just the motion crap that they seem to love to take with the photo that annoys me because I have no use for that.

Just looked at the image size, it's nearly 2MB for what looks like 200kB worth of doggie pic. I did a quick Google and there are quite a few complaints in Apple forums about this, typically with few or no responses, and it looks like they're in no hurry to fix it.

Setting up new laptop for customer, they want Chrome on and it's in S-Mode so I encounter the following (which is in a non-resizable window, and it doesn't even fit)

The "Change my app recommendation settings" does absolutely nothing apart from refreshing this window 🙄 So a 2 minute job takes 10 times as long.

When an on-line retailer that you purchase from semi regularly sends you a discount code and you think to yourself. Perfect timing, I really need to stock up on supplies. So then you go through the whole check out process and few days later when the stock arrives and you check the invoice and go "doh!, forgot to add the discount code at checkout!"

I have seen not fitting quite a lot on 768p panels with 11. Its time they stop supporting that low-res junk or make a custom mode for low dpi screens that has chunky text so that it can scale down.

The noise that traffic on chipseal makes on a relatively busy residential street after years of smooth tarmac (did I mention that the chipseal didn't need to be done? The road was in decent enough condition without potholes or obvious issues).

Crazy stuff.

People on TradeMe asking if they can offer a device + cash as a form of payment.

What makes them think I am after another device? There's hundreds of devices out there and they think I might be interested in the one they have to offer?

It's a listing with a price, not a listing for an exchange. Grrrr....

Maybe they've taken the TradeMe too literally. The site should really be called SellMe.

Or ListMe. Or DropshipMe.

They should turn it down to 10.

Or maybe build a planter box at 5.30am? Skill saw, electric drill, hammer, etc.
Fun times

Don't you have a lot of concrete that needs breaking up?

Apart from the silly stuff, a more serious suggestion if having a word with them doesn't help is to record their noise and then return it to them with interest on another night after they've gone to bed.

When software you have been using for a long time stops working!

Support for it has stopped as the Company is now concentrating on commercial products. 2 different computers (Win11 & Win10) stopped at separate times. (Month apart)

I suspect MS updates broke something.

....and I've been unable to find a comparable product!

Mod Edit - Fix funny name
