But doesn't yputube come with ads ?
Only if you dont pay for it.
Hmm. Seeing as I'm cheap I'll probably stick with the free rubbish then...

Different people have different viewing requirements of course, but for me there is so much good free stuff available, much of it without ads, that I wouldn't have time for any non-free stuff anyway. I'm not talking about pirate streams here, just worldwide FTA with geo-unblocking via IPTV. It is astounding how much there is. Of course a lot is absolute rubbish, but there are gems to be found with a little patience.

Far as remember / know, you can avoid ads on a PC, but not on an app on a TV, though I guess people who know what they're doing can organise something for TVs as well...

TVNZ show Fair Go, Midday and Tonight news bulletins officially cancelled - reports
Dear God! If it's official, you don't need to rely upon 'reports'.
That's the very definition of unofficial.

The Google inserted ads are one thing but increasingly the content creators are plugging things inside their videos.

I have a fast forward button for that.

Is that even legal? I though one of the basic tenets of contract law is that one party cannot unilaterally make material changes to the contract without giving the other party the opportunity to reject the terms (i.e. if you don't agree with the amended terms, you would potentially refinance out without penalty).
