I was recently at parliament and there was a small protest outside. They were protesting against Indonesia in relation to Western Papua.

One protester had sign that read "Down with this sort of thing".

I coudn't decide if it was a joke or the person simply went to a lot of protests and got sick of making specific signs for each protest.

Non sequitur - Spag Bol can’t ‘make you smile’ because to suck up strands of spag you have to purse your lips like a cat’s rear and that’s not a smile expression. 😀

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Being able to drive again after a very long time. My new little car is easy to drive and to get out and about certainly makes me smile.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Putting my daughter who is 6 and in the lowest 4% for height and weight in a 25m adult pool for the first time and watching her swim 12 lengths!

There were about 9 swimming pool instructors watching and videoing it. We pulled her out after 12 so we could get some dinner, she might still be there otherwise! :)

The microchip. I am old enough to remember electronics before ICs when valves ruled. Yet here I am enjoying my laptop and Chromecast and Kodi and other really neat gadgets that modern electronics make possible and people younger than me take entirely for granted, and they don't even cost that much. In the 1960s all this would have been an impossible dream. Yet I have access to more magic than Harry Potter. Right now I am typing on a notebook with more computing power than all the anonymous women in history who did table calculations while listening with one ear to a programme streaming seamlessly from another part of the world. What a wonderful time we live in!
