I know it's probably unreasonable, but when colleagues eat at their desk with food that has strong smells and then they chew loudly.

Just annoys the ever living heck out of me. It's why we've got a kitchen, go eat there. Please.

Not really, but in some places you have to eat at your desk to avoid being exposed to all the dumb being spouted in the lunchroom by ignorant moron conspiracy theory following nuckledraggers.

I just leave the office if I don't have my headphones or know that someone who will bother me about work stuff while having lunch is there.

Or eat at your desk because you're too busy to slack off for an hour's break.

But still, no stinky food and eat with your mouth closed at a minimum!

Nah, because then people assume you're working and are guaranteed to get bothered.

I'll take my hour sitting in my car before I let someone think their issue is worth more than my break time. There are a few exceptions there but yeah.

Break times are non negotiable. If I am eating at my desk and someone talks I just say Im on break and they leave me alone. If people dont do that then you need to educate them what a break is and not to bother you.

Which is why we lock our door at lunchtimes.

Went to KFC for a meal (I know that's enough)
Ordered a '2 piece meal'

What annoyed me:

  • Was previously able to swap potato/gravy for coleslaw.  This option was not available on the order screen when I ordered this time.
  • Was provided a wooden knife to eat the potato/gravy pot with instead of a spoon... how does one eat that with a knife?

Just discovering that Outlook365whatever will selectively respond to single-letter commands/keypresses in the message-list pane so that when it randomly switches focus from the pane where you're composing a reply to the message-list pane you end up with random chaos-monkey changes to your inbox contents.

I'm sure someone got a nice bonus for that.

Use the knife to threaten the person next to you into giving you their spoon.

Sheesh, do I have to do all the thinking around here?

Dropping a piece of electronics down behind the water tank under the house, which is two 1000L tanks joined at the seam with a gap at the join just big enough for the electronics to slip down into.  And while it was put in with air space between the house wall and the tank, the water pressure has bowed it out just enough to close the gap, making it impossible to retrieve (it's in a smooth-walled IP65 enclosure and it wedged over 2m down a narrow gap).

That's the annoy bit.  The blessing-in-disguise is that other stuff is going to slip down the gap as well in the future, possibly including rats and other things which can end up smelling a lot, so I at least had reasonable justification for draining 2 tons of water into the sump below the tank (it'll refill itself in short order at the moment) to move it further away from the wall than it already was when empty.  Could have been a lot worse.

Almost as bad as that gap in car between seat and console. Never thought dropping a phone down it would cause so much hassle to get back out. Hand unable to get far enough to grab which means getting out of the car to attempt from under the seat. Couldn’t do that in the garage as drivers door close to wall and won’t open enough. Had to drive outside and it was still a mission kneeling contorted on the ground trying to reach in and realising a torch would come in handy, but it’s on the phone. At least there was no chance of rats.

They need to design black mesh catchers for those gaps.

I live near a person who has two full sized RV's, a large trailer and a large station wagon.

One of the RV's is slightly smaller than a school bus. It looks like a homeless special, can't move under its own power, last WOF was 2015, and has an old black tag on the front only.

Several houses away from this guy is reserve public land. He decided to park his RV on the reserve land, by off-roading a little. He also almost daily parks his station wagon on trailer on it too.

It's annoying. After two weeks with the RV, I called the council which seems to have got him to move it.

He lives on a sideroad, with a very narrow city road. Now he's parked both RV's in front of his very tiny house.

If he going to live the lifestyle of having large vehicle, mostly sitting idle, perhaps he should rent some space at a storage facility instead of using public use land, or rent a rural property.

Having all the symptoms of COVID, while testing negative for a week - despite the fact that I was well, up until two positive COVID cases visited (before they knew they were positive).

I feel like I have been hit by a truck. Again.
