Does anyone at Apple even know what nickles and dimes actually are...

I have had far more problems with local NZ companies than Apple, ironically Telecoms companies are among the worst.
To Apple's credit, the agent I dealt with last phoned me back and said after talking with his supervisor they will give me $100 discount of the replacement keyboard as he was concerned I wasn't entirely happy with the outcome.
I didn't ask for this, and they certainly didn't need to offer it, but I wasn't going to say no.
I'd voiced my frustration to the agent, but (I hope) made it clear I wasn't blaming them and was (I think) polite throughout.

Sorry it doesn’t help in your case but I have phoned the NZ 0800 number numerous times over a long period - including for defective gear that needed replacement. I have never had anything other than excellent service.
I can't complain about the service of their people. The problem was their systems sending be in circles, cutting me off, and connecting me to the wrong people. By the time I got to the last person I was ready to blow!
If I'd phoned the NZ number in the first place it probably would've gone smoothly, but being able to send a photo of the problem in chat seemed like it should have been the better option.
They did it by creating a closed system and overcharging everyone.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

Meaning to get a new rubbish bin liner out, grabbing the wrong roll and accidentally tearing off a new Chux.
I bet @Senecio can't relate 😁
Grabbing a new Chux is never done by accident. It is intentional and something that brings an all too brief moment of joy. Subliminally your mind was telling you that it was time to throw that old one in the bin.
richms: How long are people using chuxes for? I treat them like a strong paper towel and bin when the task is done. Otherwise too much like a kitchen sponge which IMO is a disgusting idea.

I agree that they are like a strong non-fibrous paper towel, but in the right circumstances can be used multiple times before binning and adding to the waste plastics epidemic.

I'm annoyed by the company that is still trying to avoid finishing the reinstatement job on our house.
They've also fobbed me off today and I am now on hold with the Insurer to get one of the things they should have done two years go completed.
I'm so over it.
FYI - If you need to go through a project manager/reinstatement company when dealing with an insurance claim I'd recommend NOT using The Reinstatement Specialists Limited.
2+ years on and they've been nothing but bad. Constant delays, terrible workmanship, awful communication and endless excuses.
Our job shouldn't have taken more than a couple of months. We've been in and out of our house multiple times, with the whole thing still unresolved (although it's mostly done now). Hopeless.

We used to use them at a place I worked at, if you don't fairly quickly rinse and dry them they turn into slimy mushy biohazards. I've avoided them ever since, they're more or less single use and very environmentally unfriendly in that role, I buy cheap facecloths which are washable, much thicker and more able to soak things up and last more than one use, and use them for months or years depending on how much use they've had.
kingdragonfly: While you're thinking about it you may consider a steering wheel desk / tray. Obviously only to use when car is turned off.
Please don't. Firstly they're as likely to be used only with the car switched off and parked as cellphones are, and secondly they're going to kill or at least severely maim you if they're still in place when the airbag goes off.

which you don't have to use - Apple is a choice (and I think they do a great integrated, if closed, system)
