The Undoing 4/10

Far too predictable in the end. But Hugh Grant remains a magnet for many fans even if he's somewhat wasted in the role.

I told my wife this was going to be a train wreck full of red herrings, that they wouldn't be able to pull it all together in the end, and that it will be a failed opportunity for Nicole Kidman to attempt to create really meaningful emotion. I do enjoy her acting but I would rather watch The Golden Compass movie again because it stands up very well to the Dark Materials series.

Just got an email that Netflix in New Zealand has now had their contract moved to Netflix Pte. Ltd., Netflix's studio in Singapore.

Singapore is known for laws against pretty much anything that offends anyone, so I hope it doesn't affect that Neflix future offering in New Zealand.

On a side note, a LOT of Netflix jobs now available in Singapore

It was always going to be him. Fits the stereotype of who the bad person/murderer is in most TV shows now.

Available through alternative sources, SciFi series "Raised by Wolves"

It's an original and refreshing story from executive producer Ridley Scott (m Blade Runner (1982) Thelma & Louise (1991) ...)

I May Destroy You | BBC | 9/10
Wow, thought provoking on so many levels.

----
Drive to Survive | Netflix S1&2 | 9/10
I grew up with F1 during the late 70's and early 80's but stopped paying attention when we came to NZ in the late 80's. Getting any kind of sport other than rugby in those days was near impossible. I may just start watching again after binging these two series.

----
His Dark Materials | BBC | x/10
Watched the first episode but this kind of thing is not for us. Not fair to give it a score.

----
Dont Forget the Driver | BBC | 7/10
Typical Toby Jones, if you liked The Detectorists this is for you.

Watched the first episode last night, - Ridley's opinion and treatment of Synths/Androids is getting a little predictable.. but will see how it goes .....

Currently working my way through the series "Industry" on SoHo. I really enjoyed "Devils" recently so this is a similar setting in the London financial world. It's OK so far, maybe a solid 7/10.

Kingdom on Netflix

You like Zombie shows right?
This series is set in Feudal Korea, where the king is ill.

What would you do if it turned out the king was a zombie and you needed him alive to keep your job. Of-course not every liked the old king so maybe you have some enemies...

I won't spoil it any more than that teaser, but I just watched Ep 1 and its GOOD...

Some nice plot twists already and only 1 hour into the series.

Oh dear lord. Star Trek Discovery is just getting dumber and dumber.

I think I may actually hate Star Trek now.

Midnight Diner | Netflix | 8/10

30 minutes of Japanese comedy/drama with subtitles and a moral story to each one. Very easy to watch and well worth it.

Mind Midnight Diner is the original Japanese series. Netflix released the spinoff Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories a few years ago so you have two series (same setting/restaurant) to watch.

After watching the first two of the original series we somehow watched one of the Tokyo Stories by mistake and we're six deep into the original.

They are such good fun.
