Reading posts on a mobile from a site like Mashable, where it asks you down the bottom if you want to keep reading (presumably to reduce data consumption?) and when you click the blue bar at the bottom of the page iOS pops the page up and then brings up the bottom settings menu and it just all goes to hell and you throw the phone across the room and just go an eat some burger rings and play Just Cause 3 for a bit until you're ready to return back into society.

LookingUp:

Probably already on the list here somewhere, but when a perfectly good phone app automatically updates, and either loses all it's settings and/or totally changes the UI to the point of becoming considerably less user friendly.  Have had this happen to me several times recently, always at an inconvenient moment. If it ain't broke please don't fix it!

Historically I've never let apps automatically update, but more recently I've stopped approving updates for apps with vague change logs. A few months ago I got one with a change log saying nothing more than "bug fixes" and it completely changed the UI.

EX File Explorer.

Was a nice and simple app for browsing phone and network folders.

Now it's all bloat ware - so much so I uninstalled it. I usually persist with an app, wrangling what I can out of it, but yeah, nah ES File explorer got overloaded.

Out it went.

I do like the MS Outlook app, maybe I'm not using it to the fullest extent that can make it unusable that other GZ's have experienced ?

When you want to buy something on a US based site and you need to go 80% through checkout procedures before you can find out the shipping costs.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Playing Fallout 4, being a newb and assuming it would save after what I thought was the completion of a difficult challenge, dying 2 minutes later and returning to the last save - which turned out to be just BEFORE the difficult challenge just completed....!! Doh!

nzkiwiman:

We have a lady at work who will not let you out of the lift first; she is in as soon as the door opens. I've had words but with zero results.

And thanks for the reminder about people who exit stores to the footpath and do not look

mdooher:

Same at work. People have to have meetings in the narrowest part of the corridor.

When I walk past/push through and say "only admirals and first trippers stand in companion ways" I get the "what?" as they carry on

Both of these 100%.

Also people not observing some kind of order on the streets. Walk on the left where possible, at least attempt not to be in people's way.

OHH and pedestrians that do not watch where they're walking. Frequently just walk out in front of vehicles and out from behind blind corners, expecting whatever that is there to stop. I now use the horn religiously on these corners to help teach, or at the very minimum embarrass said pedestrians.

One other thing that reallllllly grinds my gears, is outside work is an intersection that clearly has a labelled signed "no right turn onto Sturdee St." But it is consistently ignored day in-day out and many-a-pedestrian has almost been written off. Taxi's beep at the pedestrians that have right of way and others just don't even brake, causing the peds to run and dodge cars hurtling towards them.

The red is where the traffic is NOT meant to go, but does anyway. Buses, Couriers, Taxi's, the lot all do this.. The yellow is the pedestrian crossing.

Pedestrians, with no apparent instinct of self-preservation, that are walking along the footpath and suddenly make a hard 90° turn and just step onto the pedestrian crossing.

Don't forget the ones that blindly charge out onto a "courtesy crossing".

On a related note, I've heard that pedestrians on the footpath have right-of-way over cars turning into/out of a driveway. Does anyone know whether that's true?
