Anyone else ever had the problem where either some or all of their items are missing from package that has arrived at youshop usa?
So I ordered a clothing item during the Black Friday sales. The item was delivered to youshop a week later and took a further week to be measured up etc and enter the youshop system. The only was problem was that the item when measured by youshop is v small and extremely light (around half the size of a a blu ray case) so it is literally impossible for the clothing item to fit in it. So either the employee has measured it incorrectly (which is what I'm hoping for and have asked nzpost/youshop to investigate which seems to be taking for ever) or the content of the package has been stolen somewhere between the shop and youshop or at youshop itself. So in the event that the item has been stolen who should I be holding responsible (the shop or youshop) because it is basically impossible for me to prove at what point the item could have been stolen and i can see a fairly obvious situation where both the shop and youshop point the blame at each other and nobody pays out. Has anybody had any experience with this situation or perhaps where youshop has badly mis-measured a package? Thanks.
landcruiserguy: Shipito is a much better reshipper than yousiht. The still let you write the customs decleration, the take photos as soon as it comes in and send them to you. The allow consolidation.
Agree they're a better, more professional service, but their shipping options are more expensive. I suspect it's because they ship each package individually, whereas Youshop probably throw everything into a big container once a week and get them to NZ that way, then individually ship from NZ.
First time to send via Youshop so quite anxious after reading comments. I have 3 parcels coming and wanted to consolidate all of them. Just wondering how customs duty would be calculated. I was looking at the whatsmyduty website and this is where I am getting confused where to include the domestic shipping to my US address. Do they add domestic shipping charges to my US address with international shipping or should I add it in the cost of the items or should I remove it?
Thanks to all who can answer
All the freight costs should be added to the items value - just add the domestic US freight costs to the item cost when entering it into the Youshop if you have to.
The Duty Liability Threshold is calculated on Item Value + Freight, if you posted it via several intermediate stops on way to NZ, you just paid separate freight bills for each leg, overall you still paid a total freight cost.
And just to give you a good news Youshop story. I used them for my black Friday shopping with no issues.
3 separate parcels that arrived over a week into Youshop.
I consolidated them, chose the economy shipping and despite the Christmas rush and black Friday peak, they turned up at my door on Christmas Eve (3 weeks delivery time)
Oh, I may have done it wrong then. I excluded US domestic shipping costs in the declaration. Are there instances where they check the invoices? What if its a gift?
Looks like YouShop have blocked my replacement Moto G4 Plus battery replacement kit. Wondered if they would when I bought it off EBay. Was only NZ$20. Bought one locally off TradeMe for twice the price but it didn't fix my issues even after a factory reset. Looks like the phone has a hardware problem with the battery monitoring unit. Quite common with these phones from what I've seen on Google search.
Anyway do they block a complete phone or tablet from being sent from say Amazon or EBay??

Haven't seen one in years......pretty much given up on NZPost handing them out nowadays....pity
I had a couple of vinyl records sent via YouShop (economy was cheaper than the vendor's price). When it arrived they'd opened it (fair enough, I guess) but they obviously used something like a box cutter because they cut right through the corrugated cardboard packaging and into the shrinkwrap! Shouldn't they have to take more care than that? If they were desperate to open it, why didn't they use the easy open tab? I've sent them an email but haven't heard back yet.
