Just watched the last episode of "For All Mankind" on Apple TV+
Got very slow at times, but ended well and the next season looks interesting. Not sure when it drops, but I'll watch it.
Handsome Dan Has Spoken.

Recently started watching Lupin in Netflix.
If the first couple of episodes of any indicator, it's going to be a good, light, easy to watch, crime/heist drama mini-series.
it's in French with subtitles but English track is available.
Watched 3 episodes of “It’s A Sin” on TVNZOD. It only came out yesterday in the UK so we got it super quick. It’s created by Russell T Davies (Doctor Who, Years and Years, Cucumber, Queer as Folk) and it’s really good. Set in the UK during the 80s AIDS crisis. Staring Ollie Alexander (lead singer of Years and Years), Keeley Hawes, Stephen Fry, Neil Patrick Harris. Really good so far loving the 80s set pieces and music.
but my absolute standout is “Ted Lasso” on Apple TV+. It’s the best thing I’ve seen in years. I had dismissed it initially as looking stupid but after hearing person after person highly praise it, I decided to give it ago. I was hooked after 3 minutes. It’s about a US Football coach hired to coach a UK premier league football team. It started off years ago as a commercial and apple decided to turn it into a tv series. Created by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town) and stars Jason Sudeikis (We are the millers), Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones, Sex Education), and Anthony Head (Buffy the VS). Watch it, you won’t regret it I promise.
‘Lupin’ on NF. In French with subtitles. Totally excellent IMO.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2531336/
Correction: After watching two episodes, I find there is an English option in NF audio settings. However in some ways I almost prefer the French + subtitles. It preserves the atmosphere of the show.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Amen to that.
This will be one of the next shows we watch, and it’ll definitely be in the original French. I really dislike dubbed content - the disconnect between mouth movement and audio is so disconcerting (but I also have an intolerance for unsynchronised audio and video!), plus once I’ve heard the original, the dubbed voices never seem to match the actors. The trailer for Lupin defaults to English which had me worried.
The worst thing about not being able to understand the language of what you’re viewing, though, is that it’s well nigh impossible to be also using one’s phone at the same time! We’re watching Midnight Diner with our eldest, and ‘multitasking’ sure results in losing the plot...

Sorry - made my post yesterday before seeing yours just now.

Walker - Series Premier.
What a horrifying first episode. I can't recall a worse pilot. I kept thinking, it's gotta start making sense, these characters will start to be relatable, things will improve, but it's the worst 40 minutes of TV I've watched in a good many years. If they could have found a worse actor to take the role of Walker, I am not sure how.

True. I watched it on CW and... it was bad.

I had high hopes, I am not sure they can bring it back from that.
I have seen a few pilots where it's been pretty bad, and they have got it in a pretty decent place by mid season, Knight Rider remake was terrible, but was getting good by the time they canned it. I was disappointed.

It's pretty hard to produce good remakes of what were pretty terrible (by modern standards) tv shows.
Unforgotten on Prime
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4192812/
From the summary
London detectives investigate crimes from the past, unravelling secrets left buried for years.
A cold case type of show except they show the back stories of all the key people involved with the dead body they found. Typical British TV Cop show with excellent plots, dialogue and realism.
I ended up binge watching over 3 days and thorougly enjoyed it.

Alice in Borderland on Netflix.
A group of bored delinquents are transported to a parallel wasteland as part of a survival game.
I'm only half way through it (ep 4 of 8) but so far I'm really liking it. There's some great action sequences and the desire to find out who the mastermind is behind everything and what their motives are.
