allan: And for a while in Wellington we had the "no meat trays even if they are a 1" rule. Once they'd been rinsed and left on the bench, how did you remember whether they held meat or donuts?

Maybe it's a case of asking the meat tray whether it self-identifies as a donut tray?

Seriously though, is there anything other than meat that's held in those mesh-base trays?

Possibly not, but then again, not all meat was in those sort of trays. Moot point now anyway, as uniform recycling rules across the country.

Maybe it met a boy/girl parcel and they've been hanging out there together unwilling to leave.  You may end up getting a whole slew of little parcels delivered.

I was briefly thinking about using Uber to get from an airport, but didn't.

Because I don't trust the Uber corporation, I always disable everything I can when I'm finished with it.

Except this time I forgot to turn off notifications on my iphone.

So naturally I get a spam message on my iPhone's home screen telling me it's 50% off sale today.

Grrrrr...

Does it drain into the same pipe as the sink and does sink empty OK? Incinerator might be jammed with a bone. Use the key in the socket on bottom of insinkerator to turn the motor back to release jammed object. Reset thermal cut-out if it popped.

Looks pretty challenging. I'm not really a DIY guy.

Turns on but nothing drains. The pipes underneath do seem to meet up at some point. Tried boiling water and vinegar and soda but neither worked.

The piddly little outlet into the drain can easily get clogged with fibrous matter (corn husks, banana peels) or stuff that looks like it should be OK, but isn't - for example the paper-like wrapping on salami. Of course, bones are hit and miss - we tend not to risk it.

Getting under the sink and undoing a couple of things will often let you clear it out. Can be a bit messy, but you'll find out pretty quickly if that is the problem.

One thing to look out for - if that junction gets blocked, it can lead to a dishwasher not draining, and depending on the model, the pump crapping out. Which is expensive.
