Hah you probably frequent the same FB page as me :)

Lost another hen to a neighbour's cat. Just glad my children didn't see it happen.
I still have bad memories 60 years after a Corgi from down the road got into the coop that my bantam hens were in. It was not pretty.

Hens often become like pets too. My sister's ones are all named. They are big Brown Shavers and they stick together. It would take a bad-ass cat to take one out.

A Corgi!?
Looks legit.
Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
I just received another notification of a price increase, this one from my health provider. These always come with a hand-wringing apology - we so didn’t want to do this but it has been forced on us by rising costs.
This really annoys me. It is always about ‘our’ increased costs, never the increased cost being imposed on the consumer, who is at the bottom of the pile and cannot increase their price, other than possibly through strike action.
Being at the bottom, the consumer gets hit with the constant snowfall of price increases by everyone else up the chain. But there is no-one further down to
pass it on to so I’m very sorry about your cost problems but actually I don’t give a shit. Go whine about it to someone else!

Right until you need them...
We are already over 500 GPs short in NZ and that is expected to double over the next 5-10 years. Most trainee doctors go work in Aus, better pay and conditions.
Likewise 10% of NZ nurses now work in Australia.
Government is not giving them extra funds, or anyone else, so its off to "User pays" as the alternative.
Welcome to the tax cuts (Which I opposed)...
This is the bottom of an email I received from One NZ

I am well aware of all that. My post was not about doctors, who I fully support, but about cringey apologetic price rise notifications from any source. No one needs to know about your cost problems. Just say what the increase is and leave it at that.
