When you have all the money, laws cease to apply to you. Apparently.

The EU would like you to hold their beer.

Was just going to say the same thing, that's certainly the case in the US but those evil freedom-hating socialists in Europe think differently.

Downside is that it takes them forever to act.

Handsomedan:

The fact that a Mechatronic unit in a VW DSG transmission is $5500 for a car we only paid $6500 for.

I knew someone who bought am inexpensive Mercedes subcompact hatchback. I think it was an A160.

He had a transmission go bad, at very close to the same price.

He was told it was known problem, due to a single chip on a motherboard. You couldn't get the chip for various reasons, including the chip was extremely hard to get to.

He was very depressed, because he had to scrap it, at a huge loss.

This guy Samcrac has a Youtube channel who frequently buys dead / "as-is" exotic cars at auction.

Sometimes Samcrac wins, because it was a trivial problem, like a bad battery, but often it's extremely difficult.

One problem he has is often a car module will go bad, and since the module talks to the canbus it needs a software download to match the model, which is often something only a dealer can do.

Companies that send out a payment 'Text' that looks like a Phishing Text.
You have an outstanding invoice click the link to pay.

Many people are not going to be able to decypher if link is safe or not.
Especially older, and older person may just be using their SmartPhone just as a Phone.
So this maybe a little distressing.
Having received fake NZTA etc Texts in the past, as many have.

Especially if unexpected, due to undercharge when they paid in person.

Having to buy DC power cable (red/black 224020 / 18 AWG / 0.75mm) from element14 because it's the only way you know you're not getting CCA garbage.  Seriously, try finding this in NZ, for general sale (not trade-only call us for pricing) where it's actually copper and not CCA or most probably CCA based on the price.

The one mitigating factor is that Farnell UK have some 002-coded actual-copper stuff at about a third off the standard price, free delivery ($86 vs $124).

When the instruction manual for a product says "for more information, watch this video on our YouTube channel" and the video is the same information, word for word, just set to stock music with some photos of the product.

It’s 2024 and there’s still no WhatsApp client for iPad.

That and broadband in developing countries sucks.

I use the browser on my tablet. Opera has a built in WhatsApp interface. I presume other browsers do too.

Trump is a horrible human being. But this is not the way to fix that.

If the alternative is Trump turning the US into a dictatorship, giving Putin a free hand in Europe, possibly starting WWIII with China, then it's definitely the way to fix it.  How many people have said, with 20/20 hindsight, "if only someone had managed to kill Hitler before 1939".

A civil war in the USA allows for those things to happen...this will be bad for everyone.

Your idea is not only morally flawed, but also logically faulty. Trump is just a front man. He is good at throwing out word salads that trigger people but he has only gained power and influence because those with real power and influence have come to see him as a useful idiot who can advance their own interests. If that bullet had succeeded in exploding his shrunken brain, it most likely would have resulted in an overwhelming reactionary mandate for his appointed successor, say someone like DeSantis or Cruz who knows how to be a real dictator.
