floydbloke:

Headlines like this really wind me up, implying that the bank has somehow done something wrong when the article clearly states it tried to warn the scammee.

This, Stuff, is one of the reasons why you will never get a cent from me.

I don't read that as an implication that the bank did anything wrong or should have saved her.

I do. To be "correct", needs "Despite their best and repeated efforts" included.

But where would the sensationalism be if they had accurate headlines?

"St John said four ambulance vehicles were sent to the scene after they received reports of a crash at 10.10am."

I thought he died in 30AD or thereabouts?

Im pretty sure vets euthanise animals, "kill" is a bit dramatic.

Kill is still accurate. I'm more bothered that the headline could be interpreted as using bovine TB being to kill the animal.

From the Guardian on 27 Aug - not sure exactly what there is to "break up" with only one person involved?

It would take too long. That alpaca has supposedly had bTb for over 4 years. The results of the autopsy will probably be buried with him.

Supermarkets removing knives from sale. Not so much a dumb headline as a dumb idea. Who are they protecting? Are Mitre 10 and Bunnings going to remove screwdrivers and box cutters from sale? Don't forget to ban hammers, cigarette lighters (together with hair spray), and scarves (great for garroting someone). In fact, just pass a law requiring everyone to be handcuffed before entering a retail store.
