"Order now and get it by Christmas!". Ordered six days ago, not shipped yet, probably won't be here in time for Christmas.
Still waiting on some spectacles ordered from Zenni on 12 Dec. They were manufactured in Australia the next day and since then have been grinding slowly through their distribution and shipping. I hope they get here before I disappear out of Auckland for the summer break.
Compare to my contact lenses from clearly.co.nz which are shipped from Sydney and generally get here in 1-2 days.

They didn't mention what year.
- NET: FTTH & VDSL, OPNsense, 10G backbone, GWN APs
- SRV: 12 RU HA server cluster, 0.1 PB storage on premise
- IoT: thread, zigbee, tasmota, BidCoS, LoRa, WX suite, IR

jonherries: My AliExpress auto electrical connectors arrived in NZ on the 10th and in Wellington on the 14th and I still don't have them, and the last update I got was on the 17th saying they had been delayed.
My annoyance, I have ordered and received other items since the 10th…thanks NZPost.

Still isn't as bad as Aramex.
Blatant liars.
Aramex: Package delivered as per instructions.
Backdoor camera: No they did not.
Package was left, again, in full street view on the front door step despite both the door and package having "Please leave at back door" on them. *sigh*

I just dropped a small parcel off at our local dairy/post shop. When I enter the tracking number into NZ Post’s app, I get the following message:
“Collected from sender 02:59pm, 20 December 2024, Windsor Park PostCentre 0758
Your parcel has been collected from the sender's location by your local courier driver based at POST SITES. It's on its way to our depot for processing.”
I’m calling BS on this. The shop owner scanned the barcode - the time stamp is when I was in the shop. The courier doesn’t pickup them up until around 6pm.
Totally misleading on the part of NZ Post - the parcel has not been collected by a driver and is not on its way to their depot.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

You are the driver referenced. You collected it from your location and took it to the "depot". I suspect the pay rate is lower than the usual courier pay rates.
As far as NZ Post (or shipment tracking in general) is concerned it's entered their system, so it counts as collected. There's no provision for saying "dropped in the collection bin", "tossed around in the bin to make room for a bit more", "courier has chucked it into the van", "sitting at a red light", etc.

But "tracking number allocated" can mean "sitting on someone's doorstep at an RD2 address" with potentially days to go before it gets picked up, or if it's a dropshipper, weeks. "Picked up" at least means "it's in our hands".

I don’t accept that. It says: “Your parcel has been collected from the sender's location by your local courier driver … It's on its way to our depot for processing.”
That’s simply untrue.
They’re treating the shop owner with his scanner as a driver. That’s misleading.

So you'd prefer "Tracking number allocated", telling the recipient "we have no idea where it is or when it'll be picked up, possibly several weeks"?
