HelloThere: People that have no respect and just help themselves.

I saw that site last week and thought it looked odd and I wondered if someone had nicked some panels - but it crossed my mind that maybe the requirements/specs for the site only necessitated eight panels. However I know absolutely nothing about this subject.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

As for the cell tower, it's at least fenced off to deter any potential 5G conspiracists tempted to set fire to it.

neb:Were they actually stolen, or they just had eight panels to install and used a one-size-fits-all frame?

They've either been stolen or removed for some reason. All 12 panels have been there for over a year.

The four have been removed in the past two weeks.

Hate to break the news, but in my experience, they'll keep coming back as long as the goodies are refreshed.

Bizarre that they spend so much $$ and not put in any motion activated cameras.

After all, there would be plenty of mobile connectivity..

Ditto with Dotterel nests that some scum destroyed last week..

The grass seed we put down after doing some garden maintenace is not growing, despite regular watering and following all of the instructions.

The last lot of grass seed we used a couple of years ago started growing within a week - this has been nearly two and...nothing.
I wish I could remember the brand of seed we used last time.

I planted rye grass on a newly cleared patch at our place a year ago. Religiously watered it twice a day, and it looked gorgeous. Until...

Once it was bedded in and the regular watering stopped, it reverted to clumps 6 inches apart with dirt in between, and it now looks like crap.

I've introduced kikuyu by transplanting a couple of chunks of sod. This is gradually taking over, and it doesn't seem to particularly mind weeks without water. It also helps keep weeds in order. I should have started with kikuyu, but hardly anyone seems to sell it.

Kikuyu is the King of weeds. You don't need to buy it, it will just arrive. At the beach we even have it growing inside the walls of the house.

The one thing that kills kikuyu completely is soggy soil.  There's a large area below the house that's resisted any attempt to get kikuyu growing on it.

FTFY.

For me, kikuyu satisfies the requirement that I can leave the lawn alone without any maintenance, and it grows slowly=less faffing around mowing things. Given the choice, I'd like something that I never need to mow, but my wife has put the kibosh on gravel or Roundup for our 1/5 acre.

Kikuyu has the added benefit of dying with a frost (less mowing!), but global warming means that unlike back when I was a kid, we barely even get frosts in Northland in winter.

Couch is like kikuyu but a bit nicer - less coarse.

Auckland and north all turns into kikuyu eventually if left alone. Fescue and rye lawns require maintenance and water.

Got 3/4 of the way through the weedeating and the cap on the weedeater disintegrated and spewed the linetrimmer line all over the place, which subsequently got tangled/wrapped around the rotating head before I even knew what was going on.

Only just bought the fresh spool of line, too. Now it's all mangled.

Off to Mitre10 I shall go to get a new spool of line and a new cap. grrrrr.

Eva888:

Interestingly in Palmerston pacnsave the plums were $3.99 and nectarines $6.99. A far cry from the Kilbirnie $12.99 for both.

PS. Checking the price per kilo labels is another way of telling whether certain items actually are "on special" or not.

The colour options for the Pro iPhones are so lame compared to the regular iPhone.

First world problems, I know but it bugs me...
