Postal Office is likely USPS. I'd be surprised if they were cheaper than Youshop, but they have a large range of carriers. My parcel registered as delivered to them, they emailed me 30 minutes later checked into my account. I paid for Fedex and it was out in their next delivery cycle less than 24 hours later. It arrived in NZ as expected.

Thanks. I found a page and I'm fairly sure its USPS but don't think they quite mange to say. Don't suppose it matters. The only catch seems to possibly be the 4.2lb weight limit. I'll probably go for that then find its just over and end up having to pay 4 times as much.

Youshops cheapest is about 62NZD, the Planet Express cheapie is about 13USD, subject to weight and whatever else I've managed to miss.

Anyone used Youshop recently? I am thinking of getting 2 FireTV's sent from Amazon. I know I'll likely need my invoice, but anyone shipped recently and what timeframes should I expect for Airfreight deliveries?

As mentioned somewhere else, used the service to buy a TPM module for my HPE ML110 (server/desktop box at home) so I could run Windows 11. Bought the item through Amazon and even though there were two copies of the invoice in the box (noticed this when the item arrived here), they emailed me asking for a copy of the invoice. This was available through the Amazon orders listing page. So be warned you might need the invoice in digital form as well (not always readily available from other sources).

@freitasm may I enquire as to roughly what that cost to ship here?

I can't remember - and can't find it in the order list. Doh.

It's OK, I'm just going to take the punt and hope it works out. I get a lot of value from my FireStick, so I am not that worried if it's $20 or so more than I expect.

Edit: $55-60 via air freight for 2 of them if they use the amazon shipping dimensions for 2 units!

Has anyone used YouShop for watch (activity tracker)?

@networkn any special documentation required on your last purchase?

A couple of years ago I tried to get them to forward a small FM radio that I ordered from the UK. They refused as it contained a lithium ion battery.

I imagine the same would occur with any type of rechargeable connected watch.

It should be fine, but probably sea freight: Prohibited and restricted items | New Zealand Post (nzpost.co.nz)

Hi.

Only a copy of the invoice, which you advised me would happen.

I am pretty happy, my delivery is already in Auckland and cleared customs, so I might get it tomorrow.

On the flip side, for the second time ordering from a local place that said they had stock of something I bought, they have now had their shipment delayed and I could be waiting for weeks for it. I am sure they are just drop shipping them.

Whilst I appreciate Youshop don't want planes catching fire from unsecured, dodgy lithium batteries, IMHO they are ignorantly and overly restrictive in their application of Lipo rules.

When trying to ship a Nest thermostat from the UK, I found https://www.forward2me.com/ very helpful and shipped with minimum fuss / documentation.

I only use Youshop out of a sense of habit, although they were recently helpful over a mislabelled parcel.

Youshop is a very basic service with a small infrastructure, it's an addon, rather than purpose-built solution, so it's easier for them to apply 1 rule that anyone (including their staff) can follow. Makes them less flexible and costs them a small amount of business I imagine, but relative to having to handle 'exceptions' it's probably a price they are willing to pay.

Actually I'll also add they were helpful, or at least requesting of appropriate information for water testing chemicals from the US, then shipping once the SDS's were supplied,
