Looks like information provided by the company:

Sinclair said the 50cc moped does not require a driver's licence and will go 100km from one battery charge so it's a practical option for getting to work or buying the groceries.

Despite that, they should have at least a basic understanding of what they're writing about, and query it, not just quote it verbatim.

But wait there's more:

NZTA website -  Information for moped riders

What rules must I follow?

  • You must have a driver licence.

Is it a moped or a motorcycle?

  • A moped has:
  • two wheels
  • a maximum speed not exceeding 50km/h, and either

    • an engine capacity not exceeding 50cc, or
    • a power source other than a piston engine.

The headline is almost completely decried in the very first lines of copy.

This is why certain Firefox extentions are used with a clear conscience - NZ Herald didn't pay for the image, it's doubtful that they paid the journalist & the editor shouldn't take a salary either, should we all abide by paywall restrictions?

That first sentence of the article doesn't make sense anyway.

In the audio Sinclair says it's comparable to a 50cc scooter in that you don't need a motorcycle licence just a car licence.

I would suggest that using that ‘cable’ may cause your device to overheat.

That's a misconception on your part. Stock does not mean free. The rest of your comment is just silly. You clearly value the content provided by The Herald. It's just that you are unwilling to pay for it.

If it had been paid for then it presumably wouldn't have the watermark.

Similarly, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. It's a struggle to recall an article of any real value published by the NZ Herald. As a former magazine editor I am comfortable with the criticism & mockery that I level at what used to be known as our national newspaper. The ease & effectiveness of a small FF extension is indicative of the Herald's lack of real cognition of the environment that they operate in.

You may wish to prove me wrong - you could start a "magnificent reporting by NZ Herald" thread, we could then compare the activity numbers vs this current conversation. In an argument of subjective perceived quality vs objective printed errors & blunders, you would have the upper hand - opinion is what decides perception whereas errors either exist or they do not. Yet even with such an advantage to you, I'm confident that you wont create such a thread, & that if you do, the comparative numbers will be an embarrassment.
