rb99:

Thinking of getting the Harvey 4K from Amazon US. Was $21 plus postage, now $32 with 'free' postage.

I have no idea what that is unless it is spellcheck.

In the bath room, and I would be able to get it if it was pitch black. It would probably light up to tell me something in anycase

All I could find on Amazon under Harvey 4K was this:
Harvey (75th Anniversary) (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital)

Get to the Amazon AU checkout, and..... "Sorry, <item> can't be shipped to the address you selected. Please remove the item or select another address."

Installed a minor update to a piece of software in the test environment. Worked for me, and for a number of other users. Pushed it into production. Still worked for me, and still worked for the same testers. But some non-test users suddenly can't log in.

It turns out that the vendor has broken usernames with spaces in them (which none of the testers had). Nothing in the change log about authentication changes. Grumble.

Usernames with spaces would, I expect, break a number of things, tbh.

Yet they worked fine - and indeed were the default - when the software was first installed more than a decade ago. Subsequent updates switched to using email addresses for new users, but old users still just logged in with their full name.

The complete and utter shite that gets spun in the emails from providers (insurance, energy, telco... you name it) when they're putting their prices up.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Hey! Some comms person worked hard to craft that utter shite... but yes, I agree.

Our road often floods when we get a long and heavy period of rain - not unusual in Auckland these days.
The issue is that people simply don't know how to deal with it, when driving through the said floodwaters.

People drive through the standing water like it's some kind of challenge to see how much spray or wake they can make before they stall.
Absolute morons.

You would be surprised. I saw one of my colleagues with a cracked phone screen. I asked how it happened, and it turns out every time he takes a shower he perches the phone up on the top of the shower frame in order to continue listening to whatever...

Personally I keep my phone out of the bathroom, I figure too much humidity isn't good for the longevity of electronics.
