Why every single time that the car won’t start the Gods make sure it’s on a Friday afternoon when all the mechanics are having drinks and closing for the weekend! I passionately hate the new immobiliser that was thrust upon us thanks to owning the most stolen car. It’s been trouble ever since.

Did I mention watching the phone dying while having to listen to their company advertising for 10 long minutes about their services and how they put things right the first time.

I’ve always understood that it’s a more major surgery and more painful if you have it done as an adult - as compared to when you’re a little kid. (This isn’t meant to be a joke or TIC).

I had mine out aged thirty-eight (or thereabouts, it was a long time ago now). It was absolutely not much fun at all.
I sincerely recommend to get them out early if you get lots of sore throats / tonsillitis in a child or adolescent.

I'm in my late 40s and I wish I had had this done years ago...but ah well, at least it's done now.

That Mrs. Floyd (I love her dearly, probably always will) steadfastly refuses to take an e-reader when travelling by plane and would rather carry three big, fat and heavy physical paper books. Even when I explain the added benefit of being able to increase the font to mitigate the eyesight deterioration that comes with aging.

They do this to test us.
The zoned climate control on my car is very good. Just leave it on auto and select your temperature and it will do the right thing. But oh no. DW has to press the fan up and leave it on manual so the temperature in the car will be wrong. It’s a silly little gripe but just irritates the hell out of me.
I daren’t say a thing.

Mums partner thinks he’s a thermostat. Instead of running the heat pump in auto and letting it do its thing he runs the fan at full speed and a setpoint of 30 degrees then switches it off when he’s hot.

It’s nuts.

Kinda have to in winter if its a high wall unit, since they suck badly for heating and getting the heat into the room. My solution is a small USB fan under it pointing up to it so it has a nice supply of cold air to know that it is damn cold in the room still and not to stop blowing the hot air.

We set the vanes pointing down and run the ceiling fan slowly so the warm air doesn’t sit up there. The unit also has a ‘I Feel’ setting that I need to check out. It uses a temperature sensor in the remote control rather than in the wall unit for the thermostat.

The space is a large, high ceiling space. The unit works great if you leave it the f$&k alone. He can’t help himself. To be fair I can’t help myself making sarcastic comments about him playing with the AC so I guess we’re even.

We have high chapel ceilings perfect for the Bahamas. Will try this method as freezing from knees down and end up adding a second radiant heater to warm the floor.

Love the idea of the thermostat on the remote as you can put it in a cold spot. Johno what model has this feature?

I agree it's nuts. The same thing happens in the summer, people turn the temperature right down.

Just set ~ 23 degrees plus or minus depending on the location of the thermostat and let it do its thing.  It won't heat up or cool down any quicker by setting a high or low temperature respectively.

In this part of the world in the summer reducing the humidity alone will make it feel cooler and more comfortable even without reducing the temperature. Drying the air (reducing humidity) is one thing heat pumps do really well.

My rule of thumb for optimum results if you want heat from the heat pump have a floor mounted one, if you want cooling have a wall mounted one.

You might be better off having a ceiling fan that shifts the hot air from the ceiling area down to where you are.

Low cielings in the bedrooms here or I would get one. I had a wall fan but the aircon went where that was, the only free wall space which is above the TV.

Sounds like you have a piece of crap immobilizer or a bad installation of it because all the aftermarket ones I have had in the past have given no grief other than when the remote battery was flat.

Mazda?

Also does anyone know if, of the most stolen models, is it limited to only those that don't include factory security?  My wife's car is one of those and without the key fob inside the car there's no way it will start.
