MadEngineer: Opening a fart video on YouTube on my phone and putting it on pause, volume down.
Casually hiding said phone in the smoko room couch and walking away.

Winding up the volume and hitting play from my watch

We've recently had electric height-adjustable desks installed in the office.

Props to their product development team for the mobile app and bluetooth control.  Still to find a proper business use for it since it's so much easier to just use the switches.  Hours of fun though, connecting a nearby workmate's desk who doesn't know about the app and randomly moving it up and down by a centimetre or 2 every half hour.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

One less destroying the native bush at the bottom of the section. I'd resisted putting up a Timms because of concerns about non-possums getting caught, but you really can't beat them for getting possums and it's set way down in the bush where I've never seen anything go. It caught one on the second day it was put out - the first day was pre-feed - while things like the Trapinator just sit there as glorified possum feeders.

That really appeals to my sense of humour.

Some years ago we were on holiday in the US doing a road trip in a rental car, traveling with another couple of old friends. I was driving, my great but somewhat gullible mate was in the passenger’s seat, ladies in the back.

In those days none of us had cars with heated seats - this rental did but it wasn’t discussed. We were driving through Death Valley on a particularly hot day, with the aircon running flat out. I surreptitiously turned my mate’s seat heating on full - then after a while I started a conversation about how incredibly hot it was outside and that it was getting hotter. It was priceless watching a weird look developing on his face, then shifting in his seat as the heat built up. He had no idea what I had done and couldn’t figure out what was happening.

In the end I couldn’t stop bursting out laughing and gave it away. A bit cruel at a friend’s expense but I couldn’t resist it.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I miss my height-adjustable electric desk. 😟

Maybe one day, in 2022 I'll get to see it again...

Anyway - that story made me smile. I wish ours were bluetooth-enabled. I would totally be that guy.

neb reminded me that I'd told a neighbour I would set my trap in his garden. This possum is likely to be the one that destroyed 2 new plum trees @ $42ea.

Perfect timing. I just went for a walk, and I got home and the rain started bucketing down just as I was taking my shoes off.

Well, I apologise for 'gloating'. Today the rain started bucketing down about two hours earlier than forecast, when I was still around 5 km from home.

How flexible, friendly and helpful the staff at Hirepool and Kennards have been, often going out of their way to accommodate our strange weather, giving us surprise discounts and little things. Does wonders for my mental health when something goes right occasionally.

Pricespy sending an email warning that prices on many things are actually higher on Black Friday sales and by how much on average. Check your price histories!

There's a local track I ride, often with friends, and we take it pretty easy.

Thanks to one of those apps I saw my fastest time was over 10 minutes compared to the fastest of just under 7 minutes. I had a chance to tackle it by myself today and I decided to go for it.

I trimmed my time to under 8 minutes and hit number 5 on the leader board!

And the best thing is I didn't crash.....

Can't see how the leader is another minute faster tho. That I'd like to see.

Black Friday is too late. The very first offers have already started and tomorrow is Singles Day (no, you don‘t need to be a single to order). Got a 1TB Samsung EVO 870 bargain on Amazon yesterday (and I hope there are no faking gremlins around it).

On-road/Off-road?

Not that it's material, but it helps me form an opinion on the additional minute...and we know how important my opinions are.
