Wouldn't be surprised if the gp practice software can connect to the lab server and also had txt email facilities.

Long gone are days of faxed results and signing off bits of paper (thank god)

A routine blood count can be done in 20 minutes if put at the front of the queue, electrolytes bit longer and full clotting screen in under an hour.

Group and screen for blood type and exclude antibodies can be 20 minutes.

Bedside haemoglobin and blood sugars can be done in 10s.

ICU portable testers can do electrolytes glucose Hb and blood gases in under 5 minutes in emergency. But if time allows they use normal hospital labs.

Having my Doctor do a home visit to give me some injections including morphine. The nurse will come on Friday to give another morphine shot if I feel I need it. Hopefully Christmas will be better.

Good on you Mike - another wall you're smashing over - I hope you are able to enjoy time with family on Saturday.

Thanks for that. Just being out of pain for the first time in weeks will give me a chance to regroup mentally. If I can push back depression and anxiety I can deal with the physical again, I hope.

This morning reminded me to always ask for help and not wait until you hit rock bottom.

This is so important and a life lesson that sadly many don't learn.

It won't work here, because the 5G bands here are different to overseas - as proven by all the posts asking if a phone imported from the US will work in NZ 😋

It also won't work here because, despite claims by Spark and Vodafone, we don't actually have any 5G deployed.

My son came home from his latest hospital appointment without a cast on his (still slightly bent) arm and will enjoy a fairly normal summer.

He's also come to terms with not mountain biking for a few months. He's a surprisingly resilient young man.

Edit: just caught him with magnet in hand, trying to see if he's able to get the titanium plate in his arm to stick. What a plonker!

I've had a pretty crappy week, though the least of many in a row it seems, and man this made me laugh out loud. Thanks!

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Seeing multiple light-hearted posts from @MikeB4 pop up in threads I've been reading today. Meri Kirihimete Mike, it would appear that you're on top of things at the moment, long may it continue.

That I could say I did not need another pain relief injection today.
