scammers should record this stuff and release a mixtape. Probably make more money than from scamming with some of the funny stuff above.

unfortunately my aunt *80 year old pensioner in OZ lent her laptop to a friend who got a call from these and he gave them access
and they infected it. He didnt tell her of course

she carried on using it and had a few problems like net not connecting and skype poor video

3 weeks later she paid a tech to fix it and he said was infected badly. remote control etc virus scanner on laptop
disabled

1 week after that bill came in from bigpond for hundreds of dollars when it should of been $50

she rfused to pay and so in the end they closed her account.

now she has no net and cant skype to family any more

so its good some  people are getting them.

so I ask why cant the skynet stop these scammers and date site guys.. and yet they pour all their effort
in copyright abuse and spying :)

Because Skynet is designed to protect corporate interest and profits....ie another group of people that steal money from you.

Haha.. someone that sees the truth.... Bankers can fiddle and live it up and not go to jail in USA
and are bailed out on tax payers cash and still get paid bonuses

scammers can live up in africa by stealing billions every year

now why cant banks trace and stop and refund all the cash? how hard can it be?

considering all these new laws the govs around the world are growing stronger every year :)

did you see that 20/20 on the woman who was killed via a date scam in OZ? sold her house and took all her
savings with her in thinking guy was real and going to marry her..

anyhow.. sad world live in.. right now

Mr Key's spy agency if it was used for good could stop these calls. But instead they are more interested in everything else you do

I had a laugh when I got this one from these guys on my business line recently.

"Hello, is this Clever I.T. construction?"

"No, this is Clever I.T. a I.T. company"

I remember my first call from one of these guys, I was running linux at the time, but didn't tell them that for quite a while, they didn't ask so I didn't tell them.

I got another call a while later, I was still running linux at home, but I knew my way around windows, so I just sat on the couch watching TV while stringing them along.
TV got interesting so I hung up on them.

I got another one a while later, when they told me that they were getting reports of a virus on my PC, I asked them what version of windows I was running.
They said it didn't matter, I responded with "If my computer is sending you reports, you should know what version of windows I was running", they guessed, they got it wrong, I hung up.

Now they ring up and my wife tells them to *%&* off.
If I answer I tell them I have a MAC.

It was entertaining for a while, but now its getting annoying.

My 70 year old mum gets calls like this as well, I have trained her well, she does the same as my wife. :-)

gzt:
heylinb4nz: Funny because you would think the rape and murder threats would scare them off.

Disgusting.

Clearly they are not serious about the threats

I've given up abusing them. They can win the battle by just choosing to keep calling.

Do all you people who get these Indian scam phone calls have your land line numbers listed in NZ phone books?

I've never received a single such phone call. I had my phone number unlisted many years ago to circumvent telemarketers.

I tell every business/charity/etc now that because of indian scammers I no longer do business from my home line, please remove this number from your call list.

+1, unlisted my number years ago, as I was getting plagued by evening telemarketers, up to 3 times a week. And also registered myself on the Direct Marketing Association as a "Do not Send".

Took a few weeks for the calls and personalised mail to drop off, but in the last few years, telemarketing and spam-letter free. Other than pesky MP personalised mail a few months ago :-(.

Last couple times they've called me I've held the phone up to the smoke alarm and pressed the test button for a few seconds. They hang up pretty quick.

FWIW I have read alot of these scam calls come from Pakistan but are routed through a VPN to make it look like the call is coming from India.

IF I ever get one, just going to do one of two things...  string them along and advise Im on Amiga OS and see what they do....  or hand the phone to whichever kid is nearest at the time and let them deal with it.

If I ever got one then I'd quickly plug in my RISC OS machine :)
