khull: Took long enough for this thread to show up. I was almost convinced geeks don't watch reality (scripted) tv

Sadly not the case, apparently! sealed

I understand she commented that a contestant was dressing like her husband?

I just google imaged 'pretentious combed hair suit' and it turns out lots of people look like that.

They judged a contestant not on his performance but solely on his appearance

There is funny, there is borderline, there is stepping over the line, but last night their rants were downright nasty and vindicative, forget that it is a reality tv show, consider the actual event and it is hard to assume any other position other than they were wrong and needed to be reprimanded

Interestingly neither seems to have shown even a slither of remorse/empathy/humility let alone offered any form of apology

It's is just the lowest of low programs from what I can see.  NZ does not do these types of programs well. I had heard their ratings were very low, so perhaps this was trying to get them up, but they took it a stage too far?

richms: I dont get why people are bagging them for commenting on the guys choice of apperance and saying that they should be judging the performance. They are the same thing to me.

Yeah natalia was a bit of a bitch about it, but firing them just because a whole lot of online whiners get off calling it bullying. Clearly if they think that is bullying they have not got far in the real world.

If that was a guy telling the same thing to a female performer the same thing, I am sure it would have been treated a lot more harsh. I think it was more of a harsh critique, but it went too personal, and over the top.

I did some research on Stuff about this XFactor (and the misuse of the word celebrity as it applies to the judges) and I stumbled onto this article which was more interesting and informative http://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/travel-troubles/67412578/Smelly-poo-forces-British-Airways-flight-to-return

I liked the axed Judges, they were edgy.
There's no such thing as bad publicity though.

There's 'edgy' and there there's arrogant and insulting.  These guys were the latter.  As their music careers would hardly have made them rich, I guess we may see them popping up at a service station near you shortly.  I doubt they will work in media again anyway, not for some time.

Oh, FFS!

The 'judges' played their part, as scripted. They made the rude/nasty/vindictive comments as required by their contracts, which were only ever going to run until today anyway, and have gone home to a lucrative paycheck.

The 'contestant' will also get a good payout and go home happy.

The sheeple will be shocked and talk about this for a week, at which time something completely unplanned and unexpected will happen.undecided

Since the ignorant couple have not apologised to Joe yet and after the damage they have done to us since arriving to NZ, I do not think they are welcomed here anymore.

Nice conspiracy theory.  Any evidence?  I don't particularly like the show, but remain unconvinced.  Why would these two effectively destroy their (already minuscule) careers in show business?

Edit:  Maybe I answered my own question.  They were washed up wanna-be's with no future in entertainment, maybe they cashed up?

What I don't understand is why they didn't cut away when she started making the comments. The director should have cut to the ads, or turned off the mic. It just doesn't make much sense..Bet they wish they didn't do it as a live show again. It has damaged the brands .

They came over here as visitors, to make us proud and entertained? Not in this case. They came over here and damaged the reputation of the show even more and their credibility to be welcomed here by us anymore. Not even a single person from those 2 could even stay out of trouble when staying over in our country.
