Geektastic: Return it to their wheelie bin and set it on fire.

The cat?

A bit harsh. Not the cat's fault, after all.

No, the rubbish!

I encourage one of the neighbours to top up our bin if there is room. In return they put it out on days we are away.

Meh, guilty by association.

Actually you could just go and throw their rubbish into a council park :)

Sorry, but it has to be done

*refuse

As far as what to do. I'd be knocking on their door and having a friendly chat. Be friendly.
After that I'd be checking, and if it kept happening I'd be dropping it on their doorstep.

The note is a bad idea. Passive aggressive crap like that is what starts bad relationships.

It's often difficult to get the courage to go and talk to people about things like this, but it's time to put your big boy pants on :)

Oh but I thought a "pedestrian refuge" in the middle of a road is where the pedestrians put their rubbish....

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Drop a quick note in their letter box giving them some choices

1) come and collect their rubbish.
2) come and pay their share of the collection costs plus reasonable expensive.
3) do nothing and expect any personal information left in your bin to be "fair use" for whatever purpose you choose to use it for.

jimbob79: One of our neighbours (about 50 meters away) has dumped a load of there rubbish in our wheelie bin on Sunday Night or Early Monday morning. But our wheelie bin was not emptied on Monday because the wife forgot to pay the refuge bill, (wooops).

I'd ask her to come home

................. What practical joke will you do to get back at your neighbours but at the same time not being vindictive?

Put it all back in THEIR (HINT typo above) rubbish for next week!

We had that happening after we put the bin in the street, I watched a couple of times and it was our elderly neighbor. It took her about 10 minutes to get the rubbish down to the street and in our bin. We told her to just leave it by our gate and we will deal with it for weekly.

It isn't costing us anything

ghettomaster: I would do nothing unless it happens again and is becoming a problem. If your bin had been emptied like they presumed it would, the rubbish would be gone and it would have cost you nothing.

Sure, people should pay for their own rubbish disposal, but is it really that big a deal?

I'm not sure what scares me most ............ the fact that some people would even suggest "do nothing unless .......", or "is it really that big a deal?"

It's a softie, warm hugging, soft ice cream world indeed.

You miss my point.

What do you think the Council's reaction to illegal fly tipping of rubbish (with identifying paperwork as to the 'owners') would be?
