As long as the SPCA contains animals waiting for adoption, some of which will be destroyed for the lack of it, I really don't see any need for pet stores selling cats, or breeders breeding them.
As an aside, a lot of the pet animal breeding is fairly awful anyway requiring 'undesirable' animals and the high proportions of genetic disorders generated to be destroyed.
I agree for the most part. I love all cats, not just particular breeds, and I don't see a need to create more cats when there is not exactly a shortage of them. However, I also respect that cat breeding and specific breeds are important to some people and there should be a place for that, as long as it can be done responsibly.
