I prefer cats to birds, so they'll not be persuading me...!

Cats taste like chicken - so I'll call it a draw.

An eagle could out-fox a cat - so the birds do have their revenge opportunities sealed

I'm definitely in the anti-cat brigade.

.22 air rifles work well.

I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

I'm definitely in the pro-cat brigade. If there is a sixth extinction, it will ultimately be caused by people, not cats. Don't blame animals who can't help their nature for the things done by humans, who can't seem to stop breeding, decimating the ecology with irrational farming practices, pillaging the environment and everything in it for short-term gain, massively polluting their own living spaces (something else cats know better than to do) and generally behaving like greedy, rapacious, self-centered dickheads. I'll take a cat over that any time.

Is it because of the bird hunting thing or would you not like them even if they didn't hunt?

Unless you have a FAC level air rifle, it's not really enough bant to humanely kill a cat.

.22 rimfire would be, but not in an urban environment.

As long as the SPCA contains animals waiting for adoption, some of which will be destroyed for the lack of it, I really don't see any need for pet stores selling cats, or breeders breeding them.

As an aside, a lot of the pet animal breeding is fairly awful anyway requiring 'undesirable' animals and the high proportions of genetic disorders generated to be destroyed.
