The tracking seems a bit weird at the moment; supposedly an order was delivered yesterday (it wasn't) at 4:25 AM (?!). I'm going to pop home at lunchtime; hopefully it's there [Edit: Yes!]

The award for worst ever delivery performance goes to Microsoft.

A client has extended their microsoft employee purchase program to me, so I can order a MSOffice2016Pro licence for about $20. Great! That's for a download, but I ordered the USB key as well which I think was about $30.

Well that was a mistake. Tracking the parcel shows it went somewhere strange in the USA instead of NZ. Trying to get support on the order was extremely difficult. It was online chat to someone in India who was clearly following a script (or it was a 'bot). Eventually they re-ordered the USB key but they billed me a second time for it.

At this point I wrote off my money as lost and swore a few oaths at Microsoft.

Well, the damn things finally showed up, about three months later.

Never, and I mean NEVER order physical media from Microsoft.

Took them three months to send me a replacement power lead for my surface pro (no cost to me).  When it arrived it turned out to be a generic lead I could have bought for $5 at JayCar and they sent me two by mistake.

An advance customs clearance can occur for a product before it enters NZ if the shipper supports this. Having customs clearance does not always mean it is in NZ.

This is different to xray/biosecurity screening which can often be the bottleneck.

Ordered a ski helmet from Germany last night - that's a bit different to my usual online pattern! Despite the distance, shipping was only 12 euro - remarkable. Will be interesting to see how long it takes - hopefully will get here before the snow's gone!

[edit] Forgot to mention - this was from eBay not Amazon.

My last two packages from Germany took about a month (using "economy" options).

Its arrived!

Thats only 11 days.

I can only award 6/10 though, as whoever delivers for Amazon here in NZ, just chucked my parcel over the fence because the gate was closed.

Amazons tracking system is pretty good.

I ordered and Amazon Echo and had to use a forwarder (youshop) It took about 2-3 weeks. If you are getting it sent direct its a bit quicker.

Ordered a drill guide from Amazon - shipped within a day on Sep 2 with expected delivery date 20 Sep but was delivered today. Seems to be about the norm now.
