Age is the number of years since birth in other words 1+1 end of that story.

Actually it's not quite that easy. In some Asian countries people are considered 1 when they're born, not 0. Then they increment the count at New Year, not on their birthday. East Asian age reckoning

In some ways it makes a bit of sense, because most of us are around 9 months older than our birth date.

Who's (or should that be whose?!) to say that identifying grammatical and spelling errors isn't a meaningful hobby?!

article: "If I put on Tinder that I am 69, I will not get a response...[As] 49, with that face of mine, then I'm rammed," he said.

Age discrimination seems to be seriously cramping his style! : ).

The idea that you are what you feel is utterly ridiculous.

Why didn't he put a different age on Tinder? It doesn't ask you to prove it. I've seen plenty of people I know that have been less than accurate with their age!

I agree. It seems words like similar and atypical have become synonyms for is and is not.

As a septuagenarian myself, I take pride in being mistaken for a younger age, but I am also proud of my age, and experience in life. I would hope that if I was in this guys position, I wouldn't be too impressed by someone who is put off by my real age. My wife who is quite a bit younger than me is one example of someone younger not being put off by my age. Oh and by the way, the grim reaper cares not a jot what age you put down on Tinder

You know, I want to be 11 when I'm flying.

I want to be 75 when I'm in a bus.

I want to be 75 in swimming pools and ski fields.

I want to be 29 when I apply for jobs.

I want to be 50 when applying for car insurance.

I want to be 40 when I apply for a promotion.

I want to be 4 when I'm at theme parks.

I also want my kid to be 18 when I need a sober driver.

I'm not a very sporty person, but perhaps I'll decide to be 8 to enter the swimming competition.

Oh, I need to be 65 coz I'd like to get my super tomorrow and withdraw my Kiwisaver ... let me see my lawyer about this ...

That is not changing your age. That is time travel. You need to contact a psychic who is in touch with Stephen Hawking. I can supply you with several names. You can then ask him if he was right or not.
