The decline in the world trading market order, including the high value of the US dollar and subsidies is more responsible for lower dairy prices than reduced demand due to ethical or environmental reasons.

Should also be noted that soy prices are kept artificially low due to subsidies, even in countries where farm labour is cheap.

I'd also call BS on your claim that there's a proven causative link between dairy and CVD, Diabetes II, Alzheimer's. More likely is if there's a correlation, then it's due to overconsumption of everything and obesity, lack of exercise, and other mainly lifestyle related matters.

Milk has many definitions as long as alternatives milks are not claiming to be diary products I don't see the issue.

Almond milk substitute. Soy milk substitute.

Milk tastes good. I like milk. I shall continue to drink milk, cook with milk and enjoy milk. I will die of something at some point. I do not intend to live the life of an ascetic monk in the hope that I can enjoy a couple more years of decrepitude later in life...

My topic headline was not chosen very well - it was copied from a farming website. I added the words in the brackets. None of the NZ news sites were carrying the story early this morning, perhaps because a fall in dairy prices is no longer very news worthy.

I notice that most supermarkets put long life milk and alternatives such as soy 'milk' in the same place. I have seen these right next to the main milk chillers though.
