My fitbit broke ~1 month out of its warranty, I took it back to HN and said CGA and they said "Yup let me get you another one we'll send this one back" and they went back, got me a new one, did some paperwork and off I went.

So they're not all terrible.

I mean I said CGA first, they weren't offering to sort it out because of kindness.

surfisup1000:

Today I get this text from Harvey Norman...

"As a consolation Lenovo have agreed to cover this issue under a one time warranty. Current eta is another 2 weeks"

The gift that keeps on giving...

Ha ha , almost like it was designed to fail at the end of the warranty period.  I think it depends on whom you speak with first, and the training they have been given around the CGA.

Apart from the initial denial of the CGA claim, Harvery Norman have now done pretty well.

Lenovo have already had the machine for 5 weeks, and it is looking like they are going to have it for at least another 4.

So, Harvey Norman objected directly to Lenovo and requested a full refund due to unacceptable repair delays.   Lenovo accepted this, and I have been given a full refund, which I used to buy a new laptop today.

Good outcome in the end, and great that Harvey Norman went into bat for me like this.
